Massachusetts Gov. Charlie Baker signed an order on Friday obtained by ABC News, activating up to 1,000 National Guard members in the state. The Republican governor did not cite a specific reason for signing the order. The activation began on Friday and will continue until "further order" of the state's senior National Guard officer, according to the statement. The deployment is to "provide necessary assistance to State and local civilian authorities and/or special duty and emergency assistance for the preservation of life and property, preservation of order, and to afford protection to persons," the order says.

The deployment is not believed to be related to the coronavirus pandemic
Here’s what to know:
National Guardsmen have been present in Massachusetts twice already in 2020. Once in March during the earliest stages of the response to the coronavirus pandemic, and again in late May in the days following the murder of George Floyd at the hands of officers. It is not believed that this order is related to the virus.
The order began on Friday and will continue until the further order of the Adjutant General.
In a statement, the Executive Office of Public Safety and Security said that “National guard personnel are deployed only at the request of, and in coordination with, the communities seeking support.”
The state is paying for the deployment of the National Guard this time around, unlike in March, when the federal government footed the bill.

I live in Massachusetts. There’s nothing happening unless they think we’ll riot when the Bruins lose to Tampa in 5. I was AGR here in MA also. We got activated a couple times in state, both for storms. Of course I got sent to Iraq and Afghanistan too. That sucked. Putting down an Antifa riot would be fun duty.
Maybe that phoney Repub is trying to burnish his street creds to run for pres in 2024, by saying he commanded the National Guard aka Slick Willy.

It may be that we see lots of Govs calling up the guard, in which case they have information on pre/post election Antifa organization nationwide.
