I agree. It looks like his arm was blown off at the elbow. How they save that is beyond me.

A large chunk (somewhere between the size of a baseball and a softball) was missing. They saved his arm but I don't think it can negotiate a twist top bottle anymore.

They saved the arm, they didn’t save any of the flesh (e.g., muscle, nerve, tendons) that used to be in that wound divot before it was red misted. There will be a certain, but currently unknown, loss of function in that arm.

What they “saved” is an appendage. The arm is basically useless. Very limited motion and capacity to grip. He’ll have to have a prosthetic in the near future.

Naa, just a big chunk of muscle, nerves and tendons missing. His arm will never have the mobility it once had. He’ll need physical therapy just to be able to use a fork and knife. It’s not like his arm was laying on the ground unattached from his body. Even then, it could be reattached.
