President Trump on Wednesday said he will send federal law enforcement and the National Guard to Kenosha, Wis. to restore “law and order” amid days of unrest in the city.
“We will NOT stand for looting, arson, violence, and lawlessness on American streets,” the president tweeted Wednesday. “My team just got off the phone with Governor Evers who agreed to accept federal assistance. (Portland should do the same!)”
The president added: “TODAY, I will be sending federal law enforcement and the National Guard to Kenosha, WI to restore LAW and ORDER!”

Why does Trump have to send in the National Guard? I thought the governor could do that on his own. Could it be the governor wants some cover in case something goes bad involving the Guard?

I talked to my family in WI this morn. The governor is really catching hell from ALL OVER the state.
Being a democrat in the state of WI these days is not an admirable occupation...if it ever was.
The southern parts of that state are usually red, the northern are blue cept for the Nwest corner.
The governor of Wis is as useless as the —— on a bore hog.
This is 100% because that kid greased two rioters. Now that idiots like Don Lemon and Chris Cuomo are getting that the riots actually help President Trump, let’s see if the riots mysteriously fade away.
If the WI governor had allowed the Feds to move in to Kenosha yesterday, it’s likely that the 2 people who were shot might still be alive today.
Federalizing the National Guard puts them under his control, not the governor’s.
If the governor calls in the guard, then the state pays for it. If the president calls it in, then the feds pay for it!
In my book, the fact they are dead is a PLUS!

The southern part of the state has Madison and Milwaukee, two places that vote heavily Democrat.

This will only work if Trump sends overwhelming force.

He said in the press conference this afternoon that they messed up in the proper method of summoning the National Guard.
He came off as very, very, very, very dumb.
Said that shooter wanted to be deputized.

And there’s where I give Trump a lot of credit. The smart move politically would be for him to do nothing, and let the cities burn.
But Trump is not doing that. He is trying to stop riots as best as he can. He’s putting public safety ahead of politics.
Unfortunately the Democrat governors are doing just the opposite.
