Actress Bette Midler faced intense backlash for mocking First Lady Melania Trump's accent.
The first lady closed the second night of the Republican National Convention on Tuesday from the Rose Garden at the White House, where she expressed her gratitude as an American and her support for President Trump's reelection.
However, her message was apparently not received by the award-winning performer.
"Oh, God. She still cant speak English," Midler tweeted during the speech.

Meow!
Midler reminds me of Behar in more ways than one and both are nasty cows..
Is that Bo Bo the clown, hes lost his funny red nose./s
That is (was, she’s dead now) the Duchess of Alba, a Spanish lady known for the bluest of blue blood in all of Europe, however they figure those things.
I’ve been told (by a Spanish friend with upper-crust associations) that she was a really nice woman, known throughout Europe for charitable works and all that ... but once you start down the cosmetic surgery path, that’s where you’re going to wind up unless you run out of money or die first.
I liked “Ruthless People” and “Outrageous Fortune.”
Boy, the Duchess sure could saved Pixar some serious computer rendering time for their "Scars" project....with companion character Wildenstein.
If you can speak five languages, you prolly have an accent
She speaks FIVE languages you Cupid stunt.
How many do you speak? If you did actually speak more than one - which we all know you dont - you would know that yes, youre going to have an accent and youre not going to have perfect grammar when speaking a foreign language.
She speaks English fine. Bette Midler is a troll, rank, nasty woman. More Melania’s, less Midler’s.
The First Lady speaks FIVE languages! Kathy Griffin can barely make it through one.
I suspect some Mexicans have trouble with Castilian Spanish. I am watching an earthier BBC version of Cagny and Lacy cop show on prime and have 2 English language websites open to translate.

Egad! Never, ever, go with the lowest-bidding surgeon.
One of these days—even God will reject such actions.
A mean one too.
I confess she was good in Ruthless People.
True, there is always the danger of going past the point of no return, especially for people that commit apostasy- (only unsaved people can commit this)- where they will never be given the chance again to be saved since they totally reject God and claim that God’s acts are the result of Satan (That is the definition of the ‘unpardonable sin)
Hopefully she will turn her life around- hopefully she hasn’t gone past the point of no return- she sounds like maybe she has- but hopefully not
Exactly WHY I used it in regard to Midler and Griffin!
