Clearly he’s resisting arrest, but I don’t see anything to justify shooting the guy. Maybe something happened in the car that we can’t see.

Getting in his car is no different than reaching under his shirt for his waist band.

Except getting into his car was far more dangerous for every cop there.

So you missed the part where the guy walk away from the police from the other side of the car and was told to stop, ignoring them, so he can jump into the car to grab something?

For some, not following officers’ instructions is enough justification.

He was reaching inside of his vehicle. Are police supposed to just let him pull out a weapon and shoot them?

It doesn'tlook like he was trying to get in to drive which would have been bad enough.

While trying to arrest someone you can't let them get control of a 2000 lb weapon especially with kids in the car.

It looks like he was trying to reach under the drivers seat.

Who knows what was said?

I prefer to wait for all of the facts to come in before I burn, loot and murder.

There is no way yet for those of us who were not present to know exactly what happened. But situations where an individual ignores police orders and tries to get into a car can get very dangerous, very quickly.

It appears that the individual shot in Kenosha had an outstanding arrest warrant for third class felony rape, so it was far from a normal discussion on the street.

I am not judging yet, but the man did have a warrant and a gun crime in his past He also had once been charged with assaulting a police officer. If a perp is known to have a gun crime and he is reaching in his car instead of complying what’s a cop to do? Still, this is still rumors not necessarily fact.

Resisting arrest and getting in a car (a deadly weapon), while armed with a knife, is a justification for being shot. I’m very comfortable with being able to listen to a police officer and do what I’m told. I’m willing to risk my life any time in that situation with a cop, even if I was in a fight, was violating parole, etc. If the rule is, don’t get in your car with a knife and attempt to flee when you are being arrested, or you will be shot, I am perfectly ok with that, and if the rule applies to my children I’m ok with that also.
