Officials say a firefighter battling the CZU Lightning Complex fire near Santa Cruz was targeted by opportunistic thieves over the weekend.
Cal Fire officials say a ground commander returned to his work truck, parked in the evacuation zone, to find it had been broken into. His wallet was stolen and officials say the man then discovered his bank account had been drained.

Not a violent person by nature, but I can’t help thinking that as soon as the shooting of these agitators starts, their sh*t will stop. As long as nothing happens to them, it will continue.
Let the buildings peacefully burn down.
I’m sorry, but this can a stuff just sets me off. If they find the people that do this, they need to be immediately taken up against a wall and shot.
California has bent over backwards to help criminals and punish its citizens. This doesnt surprise me at all.
California is a lost cause. I weep for what has happened to such a beautiful state. But they have done it to themselves. Encouraging illegal activity, in all areas of life, is the downfall of that state.
I'm from the days when keys were left in cars in front unlocked houses.
They have bought into the ‘Hotel CALIFORNIA’ MEME.
It doesn’t mesh with reality.
People ARE checking out AND LEAVING.......
Ok gonna say this, but in reality, it makes no difference.
The commander’s truck was not broken into...he left it unlocked. The reason I say “it doesn’t matter” is because the Antifa/BLM crowd have no respect for glass...and would’ve broken into it thru the windows anyway. Maybe, if the vehicle had been locked, an alarm would’ve gone off.
I’m sure Ca. has plenty of their own.
“”But they have done it to themselves.””
I simply don’t understand the mindset that EVERYONE in a state is responsible for the conditions that exist...”THEY” didn’t do anything - SOME IDIOTS did who voted for other IDIOTS. Why paint with such a broad brush?
Why is this newsworthy? The robbery was entirely peaceful.
I lived there for two decades. Those in charge have done the destruction and their policies have destroyed a beautiful state. Letting the illegals vote has just been the icing on the top of the cake. (Paraphrase) When people realize they can vote themselves largesse from the State.......And yes, there are those who weep with me.....I still have loads of friends there. BOOT THE POLS WHO ARE ACTIVELY PARTICIPATING IN DESTROYING THE STATE.
The most recent Outrage is the introduction of a Bill supporting a Wealth Tax. Just another step in the degradation of a once great state.
The biggest opportunistic thieves out there are government workers. Were they using prison labor firemen or just regular Democrats?
Good grief - my husband was born there and we lived there before we retired at age 70. It’s not like it’s an “unknown” to us. We saw what was happening - we left CA - but I don’t know anyone who was RESPONSIBLE for the destruction or putting any of those in charge who are. We too still have friends and family there and they aren’t RESPONSIBLE either for putting idiots in charge.
Who IS responsible? There are not enough of US in California to vote out the destructors. I do blame the State as they have continued unabated in their march to the bottom. And I said, I have friends who didnt vote for the Destroyers. My old District is the one, through ballot harvesting, that elected Katie Hill. Mike Garcia is their Representative now through the special election, but my Leftist friends have promised that Christy Smith (Katie Hill without the weird personal life) WILL win the seat in November. My friends on the Right are working hard for Garcia, but with the ballot harvesting being legal in CA, it will be a hard fight.
I have been voting straight Republican ticket for my entire life since I could vote. It doesnt help. Dont blame me for the way things are here.
California is a lost cause.

California. Oregon, Washington - all lost causes
It’s never a lost cause..long odds perhaps.
