Apply jessi jaksun / rev run king expectation treatment to it sleep and wake up in the morning like it never even happened.
Imagine giving this idiot money or saying hes your spiritual leader. What a POS.
A pool boy.
How cliche is that?
I read though 60+ comments and there wasn’t even a picture of the pool. I feel robbed!
Interesting how so many of us knew something was amiss when that picture of him with that woman surfaced.
And we were castigated.
So he’s going with the ‘she did it first’ defense?
Lets assume this is true because if it isnt, it will come out.
I believe that you should keep your personal laundry hidden. There is no need to put this out there in the public, UNLESS they are being blackmailed. If that is the case, it would have come with the we are working with the FBI line.
It comes off as weasel-y to publicize this. First, family friend and pool boy sure seem like two different people. Second, it seems like hes throwing her under the bus to explain that picture that came out a couple of weeks ago.
If she cuckholded him, shame on her. I can understand wanting a pound of flesh in retribution. But shame on him for taking it.
What kind of world do we live in where a man is “required” (my term, not anyone else’s) to expose his family issues this way?
How humiliating for all of them.
“Florida pool boy...”
Ah, the ol’ Florida pool boy trick. Fitting comfortably into a common stereotype.
Falwell is a disgrace as is his wife. All true Christians know we are all sinners saved by grace, but covering up this kind of thing instead of admitting fault and asking for forgiveness and understanding reveals that the Falwells have no place at the helm of what they claim was built through God's provision.
Further questions must be asked:
1. What else lies beneath the surface of the Falwells' personal lives AND impressive personal wealth.
2. What did Jerry's brother Jonathan know and when did he know it? Jonathan is senior pastor at Thomas Road Baptist Church. The elders of that very successful church, which is situated on the Liberty campus, will likely be asking Jonathan that very pointed question.
3. How will the Liberty University Board of Trustees deal with this? They have appointed an interim president, but clearly some kind of top-to-bottom revue of Liberty's finances is in order.
4. How will Liberty heal the damage inflicted on the school, the students and faculty by the Falwell's self-serving sin and continuing lies and deception?
5. Will there be legal repercussions taken against the Falwells by the Trustees and against the University by alumni and parents of current students? After all, students have invested tens of thousands of dollars in their educations at LU only to see the school's reputation tainted by these fools.
6. The Falwells have given the godless Left exactly what they want: ammunition against conservative Christianity. The Falwells will likely be seen in the same light as Jimmy Swaggart.
My advice to the Falwells: Don't hire a PR firm to slowly admit and spin what lies beneath. Make a thorough admission, ask forgiveness and go away. Your continued presence in Lynchburg is a blight on the school and affront to Christians everywhere.
His personal life is out of control and he has proven he only makes things worse.
As president of a Christian university he should have had the COMMON SENSE to not do anything that even appeared inappropriate.
He's either stupid or inept. Either way, given his lack of reasonable personal actions he's proven himself to be incapable of leading any organization be it a Christian school or the head of a company.
No business can prosper when the leader is the focus of ridicule.
It goes back to Chaucer:
"For she was wild and young, and he was old, And deemed himself as like to be a
{you know, the thing}"
He should've kicked her to the curb, so she could be an example for other unfaithful women -- let her see if the pool- boy's tool makes up for her status as Falwell's wife and the income.
But in today's society, she'd probably get to cash out with half his wealth, FOR having cheated on him.
I truly dislike the inheritance factor that many institutions seem to be afflicted with. The sons always disappoint. The kids always in dads shadow, and having grown up in a fishbowl is not good for leaders. They have no experience with being anything but an appendage of their patents fame. Not healthy. For anybody.
Very sad when a marriage goes bad.
Sounds like the university board knows lots and told him...you are gone....my guess is...he is ill...his wifes out lookin about...he knows it...and cannot deal with it..in his current state...be gone...come back if issues are resolved..
You know things are getting weird when the news reads like a Penthouse Forum letter.
