Statement from the San Luis Obispo County Democratic Party

The San Luis Obispo County Democratic Party (SLOCDP) is deeply disturbed by the San Luis Obispo Police Department’s recommended charges against Black Lives Matter activist Tianna Arata. We call on District Attorney Dan Dow to drop the unwarranted, heavy-handed felony charges against her, and look to the San Luis Obispo City Council to publicly address the incident directly, as well as to implement corrective action to reverse the political weaponization of the city’s police department.

SLOCDP declares that weapons of war have no place in our community, especially military grade chemical weapons such as those used on protesters during a peaceful demonstration on June 1.

Yep. Just another peaceful demonstration...

“[P]olice asked prosecutors to charge her [Arata] with five felonies and three misdemeanors for accusations that stem from a July 21 protest.

“The protest began at 4:00 pm at Mitchell Park and at approximately 5:15 pm transitioned to a march of approximately 300 people through the downtown area. The protesters entered Highway 101, putting in jeopardy the safety of protesters, motorists, and law enforcement and blocked all lanes in both directions for nearly an hour. Law enforcement resources were limited based on expectations of a peaceful protest. While on the freeway protesters damaged the hood of a passenger vehicle and smashed the rear window where a 4 year-old child was in the back seat and had glass shattered on him.

“Shortly after 7:10 pm the protest left the highway using the northbound California Boulevard exit and began to move toward Monterey Street. Protesters stopped and surrounded a vehicle at Monterey and California before moving toward downtown and returning to Mitchell Park. Some individuals were also observed chasing down and throwing objects at a vehicle.”

Well heck yeah. What was the ‘mostly peaceful’ to ‘not so peaceful’ ratio. By golly that should be the measure. Loonatania.

There seems to be a refusal in certain political circles known as the Swamp to blame the CCP (Chinese Communist Party) for deliberately using the Wuhan virus to create an economy here which would prevent Trump get reelected. Letting that happen will create problems we don’t need. Time we point out the loss of employment and the corruption involved.

I've always thought blocking highways and freeways and inconveniencing people trying to go about their business was a good way to get your point across.

I'm sure BLM and antifa are generating a lot of support with these types of "peaceful protests."

Arata was arrested on four felony counts of false imprisonment, one felony count of conspiracy as well as three misdemeanor counts of resisting arrest, unlawful assembly and participating in a riot. I hope that terrorist rots in prison for 40-plus years.

So violent crime is OK if it’s a liberal-approved cause?

Liberalism is a mental disorder.
