Former Vice President Joe Biden, fresh off of formally accepting the Democratic Party’s 2020 nomination, said he would shut down the U.S. to blunt the spread of the coronavirus if scientific advisers said such a move was necessary.
“I will be prepared to do whatever it takes to save lives because we cannot get the country moving until we control the virus,” Biden told ABC News' David Muir in an interview that will air in full on Sunday.
“That is the fundamental flaw of this administration’s thinking to begin with. In order to keep the country running and moving and the economy growing, and people employed, you have to fix the virus, you have to deal with the virus.”
“I would shut it down, I would listen to the scientists,” he added.
The remarks come after a virtual Democratic National Convention in which speaker after speaker criticized President Trump’s handling of the coronavirus. Democratic lawmakers and supporters who participated in the event said that the pandemic could have been more effectively handled and that the death toll did not need to be as high as it is now.
“The tragedy of where we are today is it didn't have to be this bad,” Biden said in his Thursday speech.
Recent polling has shown that the majority of voters disapprove of the way Trump has tackled the coronavirus. The White House and Republican allies on Capitol Hill urged for more aggressive reopening plans earlier this year, while Democrats have been apprehensive to take the same approach.

Scientists can inform public policy, but the president needs to make decisions. Biden may understand that he is too addled to do this, in which case he should drop out.
Regardless of who wins on 11/03, this virus will disappear on the very next day. Mark my words, it’ll be just like if a bad dream has occurred.

Folks....it appears at this time that the Biden/Harris ticket did not get much of a convention poll bounce from their failed Convention!!! The TV viewer numbers, etc., were terrible...way behind the Hillary Clinton TV viewer numbers of 2016!!!
I hope that the POTUS, Trump Campaign does all it can tho get every Trump/Pence supporter in the country to tune in next week to all four days of the GOP POTUS convention. Like the Trump Gigantic Rallies, this Trump/Pence gig next week will be the blockbuster, Barn Burner of the Century!!!

If it doesn't do exactly that, the country is finished. The misery now is so great, so unending, and the sense of "no hope" is increasing at such a rate, that the living are starting to envy the dead.
Simple solution to the pandemic,,,,Make HCQ and Azithromycin OTC drugs so anyone who develops a cough and/or fever can go the nearest drug store and self medicate with the drugs along with Zinc Sulfate with correct dosage within 48 hours of symptoms and pandemic over.,,,,,instead of waiting a few days to get tested and 5 days for the results,,,,if over 60 years of age,,,,you’re dead.

Biden is full of baloney. In the U.S.A., we’ve had 73,870,797 COVID-19 tests so far to detect 5,746,534 cases. An administration under Biden would not have accomplished that. Democrats produce chaos instead of good work.

If it is the November 4th virus, then there’s no way that the Democrats could have shut it down. Inauguration day comes later. President Trump and his people will do the best that any administration could. The majority of people are realizing that and won’t change their minds.
