It certainly keeps me motivated from buying a Netflix account. I will continue to use dvd’s of older movies and Japanese anime as my source of entertainment.

We saw an ad for something even worse on Netflix last night. An animated series glorifying incest.
Netflix can’t die soon enough to suit us.

Am I the only one remembering the success of the 1955 book Lolita, about a literature professor starting a sexual relationship with his 12 year old stepdaughter? It sold 100,000 copies in 3 weeks, matching Gone With the Wind’s record. It has since been put on many Best Novels Ever lists, been made into multiple movies, a Broadway musical, 4 stage plays, 2 ballets, and an opera.

I think while salacious, the protagonist in Lolita was disturbed by his attraction to the young girl. I don’t recall it being portrayed as a positive trait, but then I can’t imagine a virtue-packed novel being a best seller.

That is really disgusting. My wife and I have had a real problem with this pre-pubescent beauty contest thing for decades.
I used to love NetFlix, but the when the One and his minions started to get their claws into it, the programming got more and more vile. As Quinn says, “Everything before the but...”
We dropped the service and on the exit survey I told them why. Obviously it went into the circular file. They will not change. We do not miss it. We are not going back.
Most streaming services will have things I don’t like. I just don’t watch them. When a service pushes it’s crap on me like Netflix does, I stop using that service.
