Failed State of California Urges Thermostats Be Turned Up to 78 Degrees
Breitbart ^ | August 20 2020 | JOHN NOLTE

California’s Democrat Gov. Gavin Newsom is urging the residents of his failed state to turn their thermostats up to 78 degrees.

Here are some highlights from the governor’s August 20 guidelines:

Set your thermostat to 78° or higher between 3 and 10 P.M. Refrain from major appliance use between 3 and 10 P.M. Postpone using major appliances like the oven, dishwasher, clothes washer, and dryer until cooler times of the day to avoid heating up your home. Run your dishwasher and clothes washer only when full. Wait until after 9 p.m. to use these and other major appliances. When possible, wash clothes in cold water. About 90 percent of the energy used in a clothes washer goes to water heating.

They’re pulling a reverse Jimmy Carter with about as much positive effect.

Remember when Barbra Streisand released a statement or had her assistant tell everyone to dry their clothes on a clothes line but admitted BS would’t be doing that?

Or when Sheryle Crow told everyone to use one square of TP- of course they could use 3-4 for those ‘pesky times’ of #2.

Just us proles. Not them - US.

I wonder what Million Dollar Realtors, Hollywood and the “Real Housewives” have to say about their Democrat leaders. Just wondering.

Meanwhile cities like Berkley banned natural gas lines in new homes. Can’t cook with gas or electricity.

I usually keep mine at 80, down to 78 during the day. With the ceiling fans it is very comfortable. Need a sheet at night

But that is my choice. I like it warm in summer. The Rats only like choice when it involves killing babies

Hon, if I’m in the bathroom perched on the throne, I don’t care how many trees it kills to tidy up. LOL My wife just mentioned again yesterday how much Charmin I go through. She knows that depending on the circumstances, time of day, and weather outside, I may finish things off by taking a shower while I’m in there. And Sheryl Crow looks like a bow-legged vegan Neanderthal. I can picture her walking away without flushing just to save water.

What are folks supposed to do when they don’t have central air conditioning controlled by thermostats?

Oh, that is probably just the poor folks—so nobody cares what they do...

Sissies !!!

I live in N Nevada high desert.

Temps thru July & August have hovered around 95-100 during the day.

I have ceiling fans running.

I have windows open.

I do not have AC or Swamp cooler.

MY power bills are in the $70 range.

Wasn’t raised with AC. Didn’t work where there was AC for many years.

Dr. Oz actually recommended that to prevent spread of coronavirus within the home. I went ahead and followed it; I have a cat. However, I found numerous work-at-home night shifts where I was pouring sweat untenable, so now it’s back down to 75.

Same. 78 75 at night b/c beds upstairs I have to wear a jacket to be inside anywhere. People blast tge a c. It’s a problem

The power company makes suggestions. When the state starts demanding and with thermostat numbers it’ll be a sign too many Californians moved here th o TX

That would be OK for old timers like me. Used to be I wanted ours set at about 72, now that I’m older than dirt, thats too cold for me!

HOWEVER, I dont want no sonofabitch telling me where I HAVE to set mine.

I love the summer warmth. I can have my house in the low 80's as long as it is dry. If it gets humid, even a little, I turn on the AC to clear that out. All of his advice was common sense and I do all of that and more, The problem is that liberals have no common sense. They have to be told what to do, want to be told what to do, want everyone else to be told what to do, and complain about it anyway.
