‘Simply unacceptable.’ Gavin Newsom says California rolling blackouts can’t happen again

In response to a weekend of power outages caused by a heat wave of triple-digit temperatures, and ahead of anticipated blackouts through Wednesday, Gov. Gavin Newsom issued a stark statement during a Monday press conference in response to the crisis: this can’t happen again.

Newsom said as governor, he was “ultimately accountable” for the energy failure that left some households without power on Friday and Saturday amid temperatures cruising past 100, and that he’d now “take responsibility to immediately address this issue and move forward to simply make sure this never happens again in the state of California.”

But he said he wasn’t alerted until Friday that California was at risk of rolling blackouts.

“Let me make this crystal clear,” Newsom said. “We failed to predict and plan these shortages, and that’s simply unacceptable.”

Californians up and down the state faced scorching heat this past weekend.

Where’s that photo of Newsome fellating a microphone on the air? Looked like it wasn’t his first rodeo.

We are conservative and I care how many birds are being killed by these wind farms.

I agree.

Bet they wish they had all those shut down and destroyed power plants from the last thirty years, still running.

Hydro, Nukes, Coal, natural gas. Instead they went with wind and solar, and the spew from the environmentalists.

uh i see talking points. yesterday i got an e mail from State Senator Henry Stern - who also said this was “unacceptable.” like the greening of the grid just happened making it undependable and they were bystanders. this situation should be made into an antiGreenNewDeal ad pronto.

The rank stupidity is strong in Newsom. “Let me make this crystal clear. We failed to predict and plan these shortages, and that’s simply unacceptable.”

When CA did serious capacity planning and had five operating nuclear power plants, such problems did not occur. “Renewables” have been a highly predictable disaster waiting to happen.

Blackouts go “rolling,” not “roaming.”

“Roaming” is for the BLM and antifa thugs in the major cities. They roam all over looking for victims and cops to assault.

“Rolling” is for doggies:
Rollin’ Rollin’ Rollin’
Rollin’ Rollin’ Rollin’
Rollin’ Rollin’ Rollin’
Rollin’ Rollin’ Rollin’
Rawhide!

Rollin’ Rollin’ Rollin’
Though the streams are swollen
Keep them doggies rollin’
Rawhide

Gruesome Newsom has been spending all of his time telling us California peons that we cannot dine inside of restaurants, nor can we get our hair cut, nor can we attend religious services inside of a church, only outside in tiny groups, etc. This corrupt politician with the perpetual s**t-eating grin has made his predecessor, Jerry Brown look like Ronald Reagan. Between him and his corrupt Attorney General, Xavier Becerra, and the corrupt Dem controlled legislature, California is being destroyed economically with the goal being the defeat of President Trump in November no matter what the cost to residents and businesses.

As for the electric power shortage, it has been a problem in California since the 1990s when the Dems effectively cut off the legs of the state’s investor owned power companies, mainly Pacific Gas & Electric and Southern California Edison by setting up the bureaucratic California Independent Systems Operator. What a fraud. What a disgrace, all brought to California residents and businesses by the likes of Gray Davis, Jerry Brown and Gruesome Newsome.

Laws of physics and thermodynamics are inviolable, too. He’s from the Obama School of Capacity Planning — “wave the magic wand...huh??”

On the San Fran peninsula, all nine of our local elementary schools, two middle schools, and one high school installed gigantic solar power plants above all the parking lots. The schools were once beautiful and are now uglified beyond comprehension. We have these industrial power plants operating in our neighborhoods. Yuck.

Researchers estimate the U.S. will have more than 720,000 tons of blade material to dispose of over the next 20 years, and that’s a figure that doesn’t include newer, taller, higher-capacity versions.

They cost a bundle to transport to land fills.

Yes, so not enough generation coupled with not enough transmission, equals power cuts to avoid collapse of the grid. Simple. It also can’t be fixed by socialism, fairy dust, little spoiled brats with iphones screaming medic, or a main stream media narrative. It is about the real world.
