The United States surpassed 170,000 coronavirus deaths on Sunday, according to a Reuters tally.
Deaths rose by 483 on Sunday, with Florida, Texas and Louisiana, leading the rise in fatalities, the tally found.
The United States has at least 5.4 million confirmed cases in total of the novel coronavirus, the highest in the world and likely an undercount as the country still has not ramped up testing to the recommended levels.
Cases are falling in most states except for Hawaii, South Dakota and Illinois.
Public health officials and authorities are concerned about a possible fall resurgence in cases amid the start of the flu season, which will likely exacerbate efforts to treat the coronavirus.
Centers for Disease Control Director Robert Redfield warned in an interview with Web MD that the United States may be in for its “worst fall” if the public does not follow health guidelines.
Worldwide there are at least 21.5 million coronavirus cases and over 765,000 confirmed deaths, according to Reuters. The United States remains the global epicenter of the virus, with around a quarter of the cases and deaths.
Last week, US President Donald Trump announced the US government will purchase 100 million doses of Moderna’s experimental coronavirus vaccine, which is currently in late-stage human trials.
Moderna separately said the deal for its vaccine, mRNA-1273, is worth $1.53 billion and will give the federal government the option to purchase up to 400 million additional doses.
Previously, Trump estimated that a vaccine for coronavirus may be produced ahead of the US presidential election on November 3.
Asked by radio talk show host Geraldo Rivera whether a vaccine could come by the election, Trump said, "I think in some cases, yes, possible before. But right around that time."

There was a guy ion Texas who died from having a blood alcohol of .54.
It was counted as a Chinese virus death.
A 21 year old man in Florida was killed in a motorcycle accident. The cause of death was listed as coronavirus.
Another man in Florida with Parkinson’s fell down and died of his injuries. His death was listed as a Chinese virus.
Here in Maine, a man said his 97 year old mother died of natural causes. The nursing home offered him $1,000 if he would say his mother had the Chinese virus.
The numbers are padded in order for the demonrats to blame it all on Trump. These idiots need to go to jail.
How many so far have died from the flu? A typical year can be 50,000 or 60,000. I suspect a lot of flu deaths, heart attacks, and strokes are being lumped in with the China virus. Easier for medical billers to key in.

In contrast, the US death rate is 167.0 per million inhabitants, almost 30 times as many deaths per million citizens.
The US has almost exclusively used HCQ on hospitalized patients, late in the course of infection. These late-stage treatments have largely failed. It’s because HCQ has become closely associated with Trump. This unfortunate association has made an objective, scientific evaluation of the risk/benefit ratio for this medication much more difficult and this has cost and will cost lives.
Tragically, instead of learning from countries that have successfully used HCQ in early intervention and prophylactic treatments, the US is largely denying itself of the life-saving benefits of HCQ. If the US does not make better use of this safe, cheap, and effective drug HCQ to treat COVID-19, we can expect to suffer tens of thousands more deaths than would otherwise occur. What a (completely preventable) tragedy!…
HCQ has been safely and widely used for decades to treat a variety of acute and chronic diseases including: malaria, lupus, and rheumatoid arthritis. It is on the World Health Organization’s List of Essential Medicines, the safest and most effective medicines needed in a health system. The US Veterans Administration alone administers 42,000 doses of HCQ per day.
The latest international testing of hydroxychloroquine treatment of coronavirus shows countries that had early use of the drug had a 79% lower mortality rate than countries that banned the use of the safe malaria drug.
This means that Dr. Fauci, Dr. Birx, the CDC, the liberal fake news media, and the tech giants have been pushing a lie that has had deadly consequences!
Even developing nations Ukraine, Greece, Cuba, Morocco, Indonesia, and Algeria fared better than the US under Dr. Fauci! Over 100,000 US deaths could have been prevented!

It is the mortality rate that counts not the cases, and 170,000 is depressingly high.
What is the percentage of people that straight up believe that when the government claims that death counts are “due solely to covid” and not something else? Not in Michigan I can tell you. Underlying conditions, BS, underlying politics, for sure.

Republicans should demand that the US data be audited for false death attribution and so-called cases where people were never sick.

There is some evidence of systemic damage from blood clots and other issues, but nothing conclusive at this time. Immunity appears to exist post infection, but to what extent and for how long remains to be seen. SARS-CoV-2 seems to have a stable genome, so it’s likely it would last for at least a while (perhaps years).
I will bet that at least 70,000 died from other causes I don’t believe ANY of these numbers AND I believe these tests are faulty and pumping out positive numbers deliberately the CDC and FDA are both deep state!!
They were counting all deaths as this virus being the cause. Are they still doing that?
Even in death they use it politially.. everyone has an agenda and those on the left are not truthful and not helpful. I have an agenda... I want Trump re elected.. I’d tell anyone what he has done... but I would not lie to make a point or gain a vote.. the left will and does.. so take everything they put out, in skeptcal terms.. it might not be true.. most of the time is not.
