Yes, and thousands of soldiers are buried there. Not a good place to having such an event. That's hallowed ground.

I know, a political event was once held there that acknowledged the ground. I believe some politician made some kind of address in Gettysburg. Can’t recall the particulars.

How is it disrespectful? I think Trump would be bringing a message of unity.

Truman, in 1951, allowed Confederate soldiers to get VA grave markers, and Eisenhower continued this and defended it as part of national reconcilaton.

I think Gettysburg is absolutely the best place he could have it.
