Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer very quietly flew to Delaware last Sunday to meet with Joe Biden. The natural conclusion is that she went to be interviewed in person for the job of vice-president. Frankly, Whitmer has dropped off my radar but now it strikes me that she may just be a dark horse in the race to be Biden’s running mate.

Gretchen Dearest is another train wreck, and essentially no better than any of the other choices being considered, regardless of skin color.
Tulsi Gabbard manages to avoid most of the restricted thinking that so handicaps the the other candidates under consideration, but of course, it is beyond anything that she might be even remotely a possibility for consideration.

Biden is not worried about the black vote. That is always taken for granted.
The VP slot is chosen primarily to help get the Presidential candidate elected. Some in his camp probably think that during this racial strife a black VP is needed - not to bring in more blacks - but to nail down and fire up more guilty whites.
Others in his camp may like Whitmer’s fight and think that will fire up more people than say a Sarah Rice who is a calm, collected, cool liar.
They are probably modeling the impact of these VP candidates on the electoral vote and then arguing over the modeling assumptions and results. That is what I think is going on.
