Education has been circling the drain since it was unionized about 50 years ago.
He’s absolutely correct.
So...what are we going to do about it...besides nothing?
Where’s Betsy DeVos??
Very hard to come back from this.
But drastic changes in media and education are a Must. No half-measures. At this point it’s hard to make it worse. I would support some very broad steps.
More free speech
Run the damn leftists over
If you like them. Just ask tough questions
This can’t be laid solely at the feet of the teachers’ unions. It begins on the home front and what is and isn’t allowed to happen there. No moral fiber, no pride, no patriotism, etc.
The most unfortunate part of this is many, many, many of these stupid and ignorant kids have stupid and ignorant parents. Their vote counts as much as yours.
Ive been in higher ed for about 25 years and Ive noticed a progressive decline in critical thinking ability over especially the last ten years. Ive also noticed a parallel increase in hubris.
if more parents would send their kids to good private or parochial schools with a defined curriculum or home school, we could change this country...
in reguards to media, why hasn’t some of our million/billion dollar conservatives bought out more radio/tv/printed media?....what is keeping Rush from buying up more media?..or Hannity?...or a combination of all these guys....
Not only dumming done but downright false teaching. I have fought this for over 45 years now and it ain’t going away.
Not only education -huge as that is- it is mass rejection of Gods truth. Being away from holiness makes people stupid This is part of st Thomass Summ theologica
Yep, they talk out of both sides of the mouth.
It started seriously with John Dewey a century ago. He is the hero of the NEA and “educators,” generally.
Richard Mitchell predicted all this in his book,”The Graves of Academe” in 1981.Back then the teaching profession was supplied by the lowest qualified (Sat) college students. Hasn’t changed in 40 years.
The unions stifle innovation as they do whereever they dominate. The Feseral Government has little to do with K-12 education. It’s a local issue. With the dawning of the information age, we should be way ahead of where we are, and the upper tier of students are in my opinion, more advanced than those of 40 years ago. But the majority or average in poorly prepared.
The huge influx of hispanics has not helped the average intelligence either, so the raw material is worse and speaks a different language.
yup
dewey was the assh0le that developed the system and spread across the cpuntry from new england...
Wisconsin has gawd-awful schools, now. Our kids are in some of the lowest percentiles in Math, Reading, Etc.
Guess who our Governor is now? Yep. Tony ‘One And Done’ Evers, (D, WI) who WAS the head of our Department of Education!
It’s INSANITY!
The work of the Socialist Democrats is nearly complete.
