Just watch the first few minutes and see that the current Antifa crowd was alive and well back in the 60's. Ironic that Dennis Hopper played the beatnik.

“You plan on living your life as a parasite, that means a sponge”

Kate’s words to Dennis Hopper. Pretty darn cool.

If the Antifa crowd put as much energy into finding a job, and keeping a job, as they do into rioting, they’d find life would improve dramatically for them.

Any Petticoat Junction thread must include this picture. It’s a cosmic law of the universe.

My sister met him in Hollywood. There was a party on a yacht that she attended. Some guy went up to her and introduced himself as Dennis and started talking with her. It was Hopper. She said he was a friendly guy and very interesting to talk with.

Oh
My
Gosh

This is NOT the show I saw as a kid. On that show, Kate was really old. On this show, she is young. What happened?

Betty Jo was the only daughter to be played by just one actress for the whole series. Pretty and talented, but it also helped that she was the producer’s daughter. This episode has the 1st of two Bobby Jo’s and of three Billie Jo’s. I think Bobby Jo #2 was the prettiest of the six, although not as good a singer as Bobby Jo #1. BTW, the actor playing bumbling Uncle Joe was much brighter the his usual parts. He was a dentist for several years before finding his niche as a character actor.

All 3 were really pretty.

Dennis Hopper was born in Dodge City, Ks. He is the only actor to make me literally nervous. Frank. Listening to Roy Orbison.

That fascinated 8 year old me. It wasn’t until about 4 years later that I realized why.

Had a historian tell me that the networks made a concerted effort to get away from “rural sitcoms”.
