Tuesday, Republican National Committee Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel weighed in on Democrats and the media such as The New York Times urging presumptive 2020 Democratic presidential nominee former Vice President Joe Biden not to debate.
McDaniel told Fox Business Networks Varney & Company that Biden is incoherent at best and noted the many gaffes he has made from running his presidential campaign out of his basement. She argued being unable to participate in a debate is disqualifying.
Theyre acting as the media arm for the Biden campaign, McDaniel said of The New York Times.
She added, Biden doesnt want to debate. He is incoherent at best. Weve seen many of his gaffes from his basement. They are afraid to put him on a debate stage. I just want to say this I think it is disqualifying. If you cannot debate in front of the American people, and make your case as to why you should be president, as to why you should go up against people like Putin or Xi, then you should not be president. And you need to debate. I think if he doesnt debate, if he doesnt do all three, he should be disqualified from actually running for president.

This needs to be said 100 times per day every day from now until Nov 3.
Not only can he not debate himself, but he can’t keep up with debates among his cabinet members and staff while they debate his options on issues, a daily activity for a president.
“This needs to be said 100 times per day every day from now until Nov 3.”
It needs to be on about a million billboards and bumper stickers, too.
Was it the Nixon debate that started the practice?
It got the DEM’s pretty boy in front of American TV—and the U.S. into Viet Nam—and the Cuban Missile Crisis/Bay of Pigs...
He cant muster a coherent sentence. The choice is clear..........for most with a brain in thier head
Both candidates are more than capable of making major gaffes and fumbling words so there is plenty of risk to both. I really think either side would be more than willing to forego the debates if they can make it look like the other side is at fault.
Good point. I agree, so what are the demonrats to do?
Yes.
It got the DEMs pretty boy in front of American TV...
Supposedly those who listened to the debate on the radio thought Nixon won while those who watched it on TV thought JFK had won. The power of the camera.
I agree with this one.
I think Nixon Kennedy was the first televised debate. Those that listened on radio thought Nixon won. Those that watched on tv thought Kennedy won.
Youd be in jail. one of the most epic lines in the history of American politics.
why am I having trouble finding “biden afraid to debate” memes? they should be everywhere already
Now’s the time for people to get creative. There must be a deep well of material readily available to glom on to this.
He’s afraid to debate Trump who, by their belief, is an oaf and basically retarded. But Biden will be OK taking on Xi Jinping. Riiight.
If he wasnt mentally gone, hes still openly corrupt. But the Alzheimers thing should help him after November when the grand jury starts asking questions about this.
“I really think either side would be more than willing to forego the debates if they can make it look like the other side is at fault.”
Trump has a track record of taking questions from hostile questioners.
The media may cave and allow Biden to debate. Let us not forget, it’s the media that is the Biden campaign. They still have tricks up their sleeve here, such as limiting access to viewers, just like they ignore Trump rallies.
The media’s most potent weapon is in print where they control the narrative. If they could have a situation where there is a debate where viewership is very low, that is ideal because that allows for them to write about it and withhold positive Trump responses. That is the ideal situation for the media.
And who, from the democrat party, does she think should be president?
That's debatable, no pun intended. Clinton ran a terrible campaign and was such an unlikable person that Trump likely would have won without the debates.
But that was then, this is now. It's easy to say what you will do without an electoral history behind you. Now Trump has Covid, a crashed economy, healthcare, unemployment, issues overseas, and a whole host of other issues he will get questioned on. It will be a completely unfriendly cast of moderators who will do their best to make him say something they can make headlines around. It will be like all his recent TV interviews on steroids. He has nothing to be gained and a lot to lose.
