I like listening to the 'oldies' of my youth, too.

But I'm not sure that much of today's popular music fulfills the notion that 'Music hath charms to soothe a savage breast, to soften rocks, or bend a knotted oak.'

Not a lot of talent, in the sense of true singers or music today, is right.....

Oldies do seem to be liked by a broad range of Americans though. At Christmas I played Oldies for a cookie bake with my Grand-Daughters. All three in their 20’s now.......we did the “Stroll” across the kitchen floor together..it was wonderful!

BTW the “Stroll” has the longest run for a line dance in the history of music.
