About 7-in-10 United States registered voters support excluding illegal aliens when it comes to determining representation in Congress, a new poll reveals.
A poll by Rasmussen Reports and Just the News Daily finds that voters overwhelmingly support excluding illegal aliens from congressional apportionment counts, which determine how many representatives each state receives in Congress.
Last month, Trump signed a memorandum that ensures American citizens receive proper representation in Congress without being minimized by apportionment counts inflated by the illegal alien population.
Overall, about 70 percent of all voters said they support excluding illegal aliens from such counts including nearly 30 percent who want only citizens counted. Less than a quarter said they want illegal aliens included in the counts.
Across party and racial lines, Trumps decision is hugely popular. About 72 percent of white Americans, 67 percent of black Americans, and 57 percent of Hispanic Americans said they supported counting either only citizens or citizens and legal residents when determining congressional representation for the states.
A majority of Republican voters, 52 percent, said they support counting only citizens in the counts, while 57 percent of Democrats and 65 percent of swing voters said they support excluding illegal aliens.
Liberals are the most likely of any group to say illegal aliens should be counted in congressional apportionment counts, while conservatives are the most likely to want only citizens counted. About 43 percent of liberals said illegal aliens should be counted.
Conservatives, on the other hand, said by a 53 percent majority that only citizens should be counted.
The sanctuary state of California has filed suit against Trump for the memorandum, admitting in their legal case that their 2.2 million-strong illegal alien population is used every ten years to drive up their congressional representation in Washington, DC.

which suggests 57% of the democrat party are not complete idiots. That is an interesting statistic
Wow, who knew so many Democrats would think this is ok?
Because I’m sure the Democrats will go to court over this. The Democrat party view will be that it is illegal to exclude illegal aliens from congressional apportionment.
Yet if you can believe this poll, a majority of Democrats agree in principle that illegals shouldn’t be part of the basis for congressional representation.
Polls: Biden, who is for open borders and supports counting illegal aliens in the Census, leads President Trump, who is against both.
Also polls: At least two-thirds of the American People are against open borders and against counting illegal aliens in the Census.
One of those poll results must be wrong. Guess which one.
They are NOT citizens and are here illegally. They should receive NOTHING. They are playing us for FOOLS. They move up here and then back to Mexico after they sign up for welfare all the freebies. They then get someone living here to send them the goods down there.
I know that they are getting covid relief money sent to them down there too by relatives or friends. They say they are living here but theyre NOT. They are ripping us off and they think we are STUPID. They get ballots sent to addresses up here and fill them out down there with the help of other buddies here. It is getting ridiculous and they fleecing the pockets of hard working citizens. Its one of the largest sources of voting fraud in America too. It ALL needs to be ended YESTERDAY. NO MAS!
the other 3 didn’t understand the question
Good news...but how many of these 70% of voters in the country even know this is an issue and where the respective parties stand? Do they know it is President Trump on their side vs. the Dems?
And once again, you just take an issue and remove the party label from it, most blacks support the conservative position. That is the way it is almost always is. But many don’t know it is in fact the Democrats going against their values - time after time.
Does this make sense to anyone?
“A majority of Republican voters, 52 percent, said they support counting only citizens in the counts, while 57 percent of Democrats and 65 percent of swing voters said they support excluding illegal aliens.”
It does not to me. Seems they may have reversed the results?
Representatives shall be apportioned among the several States according to their respective numbers, counting the whole number of persons in each State, excluding Indians not taxed. But when the right to vote at any election for the choice of electors for President and Vice-President of the United States, Representatives in Congress, the Executive and Judicial officers of a State, or the members of the Legislature thereof, is denied to any of the male inhabitants of such State, being twenty-one years of age, and citizens of the United States, or in any way abridged, except for participation in rebellion, or other crime, the basis of representation therein shall be reduced in the proportion which the number of such male citizens shall bear to the whole number of male citizens twenty-one years of age in such State.
Excluding superfluous words, the essential text is this:
Representatives shall be apportioned among the several States according to their respective numbers. But when the right to vote at any election is denied to any of the inhabitants of such State, being twenty-one years of age, and citizens of the United States, the basis of representation therein shall be reduced in the proportion which the number of such citizens shall bear to the whole number of citizens twenty-one years of age in such State.
The 14th amendment requires the census to count citizens for the purpose of apportionment, because the penalty for denying citizens the right to vote is loss of representation equal to the percentage of citizens denied the right to vote.
Illegal aliens do not have the right to vote, so counting them for apportionment dilutes the penalty for disenfranchising a citizen's right vote.
