While professional football, baseball, and basketball players have been opting out of their upcoming seasons by the dozens, less has been heard from the nation’s collegiate athletes.
Well, that’s beginning to change.
According to a report obtained by ESPN, a group of players from several different Pac-12 schools have threatened to sit out preseason and regular season games unless the Pac-12 makes certain concessions. In a text message from the group, the aim is to “obtain a written contract with the Pac-12 that legally ensures we are offered the following protections and benefits.”
The list includes:
— Ensure safe play during COVID-19
— Fight racial injustice
— Secure economic rights and fair compensation
— Protect all sports
— Obtain long-term health insurance
Though, according to the conference, they haven’t heard from this group of players.

Yes. I sort of missed the NCAA basketball playoffs last March. I used to watch an occasional hokey or baseball game, but I find I don’t miss them much. I do like football, but by September, I believe I will feel the same about that sport. Besides, who would want to be a fan of a team called the “ Washington Football Team”.
If I hired people, I would toss all the Mizzou resumes.
Plus, with the COVID they gave seniors the option of finishing the semester pass/fail, so some of them coasted even more than normal the last couple months.
And I thought I would still enjoy college football. Guess not.
They want to boycott,,,ok
So pampered college prima donnas want long-term health insurance while regular Americans are going broke trying to pay 5-figures a year for insurance? Riiiight.
When I was in college, health insurance for students was dirt cheap.
Yeah. I have Medicare, Medicare supplement but mainly use the VA. Mrs rktman on the other hand is $882/mth for her medical. NOT free.
Do they plan to boycott their scholarships too?

Any doubt the high schools will also adopt this crap? Little league next?
I hope they lose their sports scholarships and college places as a result.

I’m 82 and have been a Wildcat fan since I was a kid. I wasn’t really enthusiastic over this coming season with Sumlin still there but I was still going to follow the Cats. Now, I see PAC-12 players are threatening to boycott the season over SJW crap. I have already given up on all professional sports but it looks like college is going the same way.
Doubt that would ever happen since the schools are hot beds of anarchy and support all this BS. The only time it might happen is if these money grubbing indoctrinator schools loose big funding.

If my alma mater, UofF, tries to implement this SJW/BLM/kneeling crap they can kiss my alumni donations good bye, and I won’t be by myself. Certainly they can figure this out.
