ustice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, battling a recurrence of cancer, was hospitalized Wednesday to undergo "a minimally invasive non-surgical procedure" and likely will be released from the hospital later this week, the Supreme Court announced.
"Justice Ginsburg underwent a minimally invasive non-surgical procedure today at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York City to revise a bile duct stent that was originally placed at Sloan Kettering in August 2019. According to her doctors, stent revisions are common occurrences and the procedure, performed using endoscopy and medical imaging guidance, was done to minimize the risk of future infection. The Justice is resting comfortably and expects to be released from the hospital by the end of the week," the release says.
The long-serving liberal icon, who has a history of medical problems, announced earlier this month that she is undergoing chemotherapy treatments for cancer that have been showing promising results.
"On May 19, I began a course of chemotherapy (gemcitabine) to treat a recurrence of cancer. A periodic scan in February followed by a biopsy revealed lesions on my liver. My recent hospitalizations to remove gall stones and treat an infection were unrelated to this recurrence," she noted in a July 17 statement.
"My most recent scan on July 7 indicated significant reduction of the liver lesions and no new disease. I am tolerating chemotherapy well and am encouraged by the success of my current treatment," she said.

Her departure would eliminate the enthusiasm gap. The little rats will go into a panic with the prospect of Trump replacing this evil woman.
Look for that to be their Hail Mary October Surprise...Ruth Bater Ginsburg goes in for another stint and something goes terribly wrong...and the only way to honor her is to get out and vote Biden. Those were her last words...”go..vote..Bi..dennnnnn”....
I think it’s old news because I read this weekend she was back home.
LOL....I think she’ll be nipped and tucked a lot more before she’s ready to leave this world.
She kind of reminds me of an old model car that’s been repaired over and over prior repairs. I couldn’t give up my mothers car as she had left it to me when she died. Attached to it, of course, I had repairs done on repairs over and over again just to hang onto it. Finally had to give up and it was sold for parts to a fellow who had wanted it just for that purpose.
Give her a pill for the pain and send her home.
I will say this. Anybody this unhealthy has no right to hold such an important public position. Anybody with a sense of dignity and concern for our nation would have retired long ago to allow somebody more capable to perform the duties and spend last days with family and friends.
Lets short-sell. August.
1. He is responsible for who will sit on the US Supreme Court, and no one on earth can do anything about that.

People have free will and bad things happen that were not in God’s plan.
2, I pray for a peaceful transition for Justice Ginsburg and that God be merciful to her and this country..

Amen. She is very strong and is putting up the good fight.
I don’t like to see anybody suffer.
BTW, did you receive a liver? Or are you at end stage?
I have often wished that as I have watched previous Justices, with debilitating diseases, choose to stay on the Court over retiring and having their last days be peaceful.
Power corrupts, absolute power corrupts absolutely. They can't give up the power. It is distressing; and, is one of the reasons I would support an idea put forward by Mark Levin that the Court not be a lifetime appt; but, maybe 16 years (I think that is the number Mark put out there some years ago).
“They can’t give up the power.”
That’s the bottom line.
The reality is that we are all in end stage something - sometimes old age. I had a malignant tumor the size of a tennis ball. So, the options were to remove it surgically, which meant removing a third of my liver. The chances are, another one will occur in the future. The second option was to do a chemo-embolization, where they inject chemo (poison) in the tissue surrounding the liver and destroy the blood vessels that were feeding it. That is called a TACE (you can look it up). It obliterated the tumor, but I have effectively taken the size of the tumor and made it into scar tissue. The rest of my liver functions normally, which is called ‘compensated liver function’, and I am extremely healthy except for the liver issues. They wanted to transplant because I still have a potential for another liver or reduced liver function at some point. So, technically, that is end stage. But when is the end? only God knows that. They only thing the rransplant folks measure is if you are alive after 5 years. The success rate is about 94% at this particular transplant Institute. What they don’t tell you is that essentially they can keep you alive, but they really don’t give a rats ass about the quality of it. Even though I was on the UNOS Transplant Register with a MELD Score of 29, I wouldn’t have been at the top of the list, which no ones what that is, perhaps 34?
Most people don’t know that if you receive a call, then you have at least a two or three day hospital visit, and the average time you are called is at least three times before you get an organ. You literally have to become a slave of the hospital system in order to “live” perhaps an extra 5 years, or 20, or whatever the amount God lets you live. Also, you take away the chance for a liver that might work for someone else. It takes more chances because not only does the liver have to be the right type, it has to be the right size, and not be rejected. When I found that I no longer had a malignant tumor, then I chose to take my name off of the list. My life is truly in God’s hands. period. This is an extremely long answer to your question, but I love to pass on the actual experience to those that might be faced with the same ordeal. Praise God!
Well said.
Vile bitch? You must be pretty vile yourself, to wish a violent death on anyone!
Yeah, I’m honestly pretty glad that Hitler and Stalin are dead. I’m particularly happy with how Stalin died. Call me evil if you will. /sarc
Has she been spewing her liberal anti-Trump bile again?
My wife also had bile duct cancer. She died 5 months after finding out about it.
how long ago did you get your liver transplant? Was it whole or partial
I have a young friend (actually son of my friend) who had a transplant 2 months ago in Houston. They are from Oklahoma City. His condition was Bilary atresia A really great young man.. only 18. A strong Christian, homeschooled and already accomplishing a lot of remarkable achievements at his young age. Heck when I was 18 my biggest concern was which mascara I should be using.
BTW ... welcome to Free Republic if you are new.. Lots of recycled folk around.

Yes, vile bitch. She’s responsible for countless innocent deaths. You wish her well, if it makes you feel special.
