Google is launching a new tool that allows businesses to identify themselves as Black-owned through the companys Maps and Search listings. The new feature is part of the companys pledge announced last month to support the Black community with initiatives and product ideas that support long-term solutions.
When searching for a business through Google.com or Google Maps, youll now be able to see a new badge to represent Black-owned businesses its a black heart over an orange three-striped background, like the one you can see in these images. They need to claim their business on Google and verify they own it by mail, phone or email before they can apply for the badge; its not clear how or whether Google can actually tell if theyre Black-owned. In 2018, Google introduced similar badges for businesses to display if they were either Women-Led and/or friendly to members of the LGBTQ+ community.

LOL. Didn’t a “black heart” used to mean something bad?
So, harder to find White owned businesses.
When do white owners sue to be identified as white-owned businesses?
Seems racist and illegal.
Those black-owned businesses that take advantage of this tawdry advertising trick may find it hurts them more than it helps.
just go to the one not identified as black.

I will.
They want to play race games...game on.

Now I know which places to avoid.
Sorry, not shopping at any anti-white racist establishments, and in solidarity with my white brethren, I will shop white whenever possible.
I don’t think this BLM fraud is going to work out their supporters think.
better yet, why dont they turn over some of their biz units to the AAs and let them run it??
I won’t patronize any business that specifies the race or gender of the owner or the managers.
So they are actively inhibiting the financial opportunities for Caucasian Americans?
Is this right?
Google stocks are tanking ad money vanishing looks of new gimmick for bucks.
LinkedIn is doing the same thing. The banner at the top lists many black executives that they want you to connect with.
Whoopee. In NYS Cuomo is busily putting them out of business. Folks will find an epty store front/shop/office.
Dr. Immanuel needs to open an online pharmacy distributing HCQ.
That will make their heads explode trying to figure out what to do.
I will avoid patronizing any business that displays such a sign. I dont care who owns the business, but if black is your priority, then let black be your customer.
Why don’t they just cut to the chase and mark the businesses owned by white guys?
A few years ago I had volunteered to sit on a panel and judge some presentations on various topics being given by high-school Seniors.
I remember one young black man chose the topic of black-owned businesses. And he really did a very find job with his research, development of a Powerpoint and his delivery. I was impressed.
There was a Q&A afterwards. I asked him why he had chosen this topic.
His response: “I really hate it when I walk into a store in my neighborhood and see that is is owned by an Indian or an AAAAA-rab.”
I was stunned. All ginned-up over the topic of racism, yet he could not recognize it coming out of his own mouth.
