Minneapolis 'Umbrella Man' who sparked AutoZone fire is Hells Angels member: police

A man captured on surveillance video smashing windows at a Minneapolis AutoZone in the wake of George Floyd’s death is a Hells Angels member bent on stirring up social unrest, police said.

Nicknamed “Umbrella Man” for his all-black getup that included a hood, gas mask and black umbrella, police said the man’s actions led to arson -- the first of several that sent peaceful protests into chaos.

Police identified the 32-year-old suspect through a tip last week. Minneapolis police spokesman John Elder told the Associated Press Tuesday he could not confirm the name of the person involved, but said the investigation remains open and active.

“This was the first fire that set off a string of fires and looting throughout the precinct and the rest of the city,” Minneapolis police arson investigator Erika Christensen wrote in a search warrant affidavit this week, according to the Star Tribune.

The riots spread to other parts of Minneapolis and St. Paul, and caused an estimated $500 million in damage. At least two people died — one a man who was fatally shot at a Minneapolis pawnshop and another whose burned body was found in the ruins of another pawnshop.

Early after the riots started, Democrat politicians tried to claim that white supremacists were the perpetrators. When these same politicians let all the rioters, arsonists, and assailants out of jail without charges, then I knew the white supremacist claims were false. Same thing goes for this guy in the video with the umbrella. The police department claims they know who this guy is, but haven't released his name. Neither have they picked him up. So if this guy with the black umbrella is supposed to be a white supremacist, doesn't that mean that all those rioting members of Antifa and BLM that are carrying black umbrellas in videos from across the country, are also white supremacists? But yet, Democrats are strongly supporting these people. Sorry libs. You can't claim these people are white supremacists, and then release them from custody without charges. Your claim doesn't pass the smell test.

S.C. Democrat Rep. Clyburn just yesterday tried to claim that white supremacists have taken over BLM. I called his office, and told the girl who answered the phone to ask Rep. Clyburn, that if all these people were white supremacists, then why did Democrat D.A.s, and Mayors, along with State Attorney Generals let them all out of jail without charges in cities like Chicago, Atlanta, Portland, Seattle, New York, etc.

IIRC, disaffected ex-girlfriend ID’d him as her former boyfriend, who had stolen her very distinctive gas mask for his disguise. I’m guessing that fell apart when it got actually checked out someone not just looking for an easy closure.
