U.S. deaths from COVID-19 rose for a third week in a row to more than 6,300 people in the seven days ended July 26, though the number of new cases fell 2%, dropping for the first time after rising for five weeks, a Reuters analysis found.
...
There were nearly 460,000 new COVID-19 cases reported last week, according to the analysis. California, Florida and Texas collectively accounted for nearly 200,000 of the new cases, though the latter two states reported fewer new infections compared to the previous week.

Yes. A more contagious strain swept through the U.S. Midwest a couple of weeks ago. It came through like a wildfire and was very obvious. Cases roughly doubled.
Even in states that allowed businesses of all kinds to stay open, store managers knew about the new strain in advance and required masks in order to keep as many employees as possible healthy and at work.
Everyone is wearing masks in stores now. Case increase numbers are only down a little so far. Business is somewhat slow, with many people having decided to stay home as much as possible. Business should increase again gradually.
If you believe that number you just might be a Liberal IDIOT!!
After increasing by a bit more than 100%, daily case increases have fallen by approximately 30% for a couple days. We’ll see whether or not the numbers fluctuate upwards again, or downwards.
Some good news here.

Not only are the counts BS, but the more tests performed, the more will be uncovered. Imagine what the numbers would be if there were ZERO tests.
so, what’s the number according to afchief?
this is talking about deaths, not total count of those infected
you said “ A more contagious strain ...” do you have anything other than “store managers knew about the strain” to support this claim? I work with health experts and none of them have heard of this.
How many of them were shot?
Somebody please pass these fools a mortality table for the last 18 months,
Ive been looking for it myself but to no avail. Ill bet there is no bump in it? Otherwise wed know.
What the heck did they pass in April? Blanket liability protection from everything, not just WuFlu-related deaths?!
That's what they are doing now basically. Using their imagination.
The tests are junk so we don't actually know who does or doesn't have WuFlu. And people are dying of all the things people normally die from, but "some" are tested with those same faulty tests so they are counted as if they died from WuFlu instead of whatever actually killed them (heart attack, motorcycle accident...)
This is the biggest fraud ever pulled on the American People and now so many have been caught in the fraud that they are now too invested in keeping the lie going to save face.
Death WITH COVID or death FROM COVID? Which is it?
tracking # of tests seems like a useless statistic.
too many people are tested multiple times.
too many people are infected but asymptomatic.
I’m guessing all testing results are reported.
anecdotal: My son in law was infected - tested positive. Symptoms gone in less than 2 days.
he had to self-quarantine. He had to stay quarantined until he had 2 consecutive negative tests.
his first 3 quarantine tests were positive, his next 2 were negative.
I wonder...was only his original test reported? ...I’m guessing 6 tests were reported with 3 tests showing as infected new cases...
Last week a guy who I have known for over 50 years was taken to a Hospital Emergency Room and died within hours - his cause of death was listed as Cover. Problem is, that he was under a doctors care and never diagnosed with Covid. My friend’s son tried to argue with the Hospital that Covid was not the cause of death.
The Hospital refused to change the death certificate.
You “work with health experts” who reportedly imply that there is no single strain that is more contagious than another. No one can argue with or inform an “expert,” who is fully knowledgeable in “health.” Silenced by “experts,” I’ll keep the bookmarks to myself.
here's a more comprehensive one for England and Wales
And for the US
death from Covid.
Here you go. Scroll down until you find “Weekly number of deaths (from all causes), which goes back to 2017. Also read the Figure Notes, right under the graph.
