The New York Times on Wednesday reported that coronavirus hospitalizations have risen dramatically and are nearing their April peak. The Times, however, either overlooked or ignored a serious factor: Way more states are reporting hospitalizations now than were reporting at the April peak.
The rising hospitalizations reflect the scale of serious illnesses, the Times said. Nearly as many people are in hospitals now as there were when New York was at its worst. The latter part is true. The Times notes that as of July 22, 59,628 people were being treated in hospitals for the Wuhan virus. During the peak of the outbreak on April 15, when New York was the nations hot spot, 59,940 were hospitalized for the virus. The data comes from The Atlantics COVID Tracking Project, which collects virus data daily from all 50 states, plus Washington, D.C., and five U.S. territories.
[H]ospitalizations may be the clearest measure of how widely the virus is causing the most serious illnesses, and could offer a glimpse of what is ahead, the New York Times reports.
The problem is that the articles own source reveals that the spike in numbers can be partly attributed to the fact that Florida, the countrys third-most-populous state, began reporting hospitalizations only two weeks ago, meaning sheer hospitalization numbers are not the clearest measure of the viruss seriousness at least not the way the Times compares them.

Lies, Damned Lies, and Statistics.
I’d submit that the Slimes is guilty of all three.
Trump seems to be buying it.
A nice way to put it is abuse of data. Actually manipulation of data would be another nice way to say it versus the hard truth about the liars the leftist MSM truly are.
There have been too many accounts of falsifying of data to trust any of these articles especially by the New York Times, or Atlantic.
The Florida hospital numbers have been available on the Florida AHCA site for a long time in, more or less, real-time and it has been available for months. I know this because I check it every morning. The Florida hospital numbers are stable but it’s varies from county to county as you would expect. This morning there was 24% available which is about the same as before the shutdown.
“Trump seems to be buying it.”
Few seem to admit that. Interesting, huh?

Yup!.....you can take it any way you want to...but the operative word there is “seems”......lol...
It seems you don't know the difference between checkers and chess...or appreciate the difference....
There is only the Wuhan Virus.
You make assumptions.
That says it all about you.
Yep, that is one of his BIGGEST FAILINGS as President. He’s going to let them destroy the country in the name of the fake non-epidemic.
There are plenty of hospital beds available in Florida—the numbers are very clear:

Partisan Media Shills update.
many times Trump says things, only to seemingly back track later.
They wanted ventilators so he promoted and got thme built, they said no masks then the say everyone wear masks - Trump is good at letting people have what they want then let them be exposed as wrong.
I think Trump is going along with them some what because he is walking fine line few months from election. just like earlier this year he went along with Fauci for a while then made a hard shift about open up states - even though fauci etc didn’t agree, because Trump knew they were faking some numbers etc all the false stuff
Yes I check that site every morning and it been available for quite awhile, the story is pretty much BS. The good part is that it is close to real-time if you check it from time to time during the day, a great resource.
