Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot has accepted President Donald Trump’s offer of federal law enforcement officials to help fight crime in Chicago — but says they must not patrol protests, as federal officials are doing in Portland, Oregon.
President Trump and Mayor Lightfoot spoke Wednesday evening, after the administration announced that it would surge federal law enforcement agents to Chicago and other cities suffering from a wave of violent crime in the wake of Black Lives Matter protests. The protests have prompted police to scale back patrols — in some cases at the behest of politicians.
Lightfoot claimed that Trump “realized that what he did in Portland was a grave abuse of his presidential power,” though it was not clear that the president had made any such admission. The Department of Homeland Security has sent agents to protect the federal courthouse in downtown Portland, which has been vandalized and firebombed by black-clad rioters associated with Black Lives Matter protests. Some 200 federal officials are expected to be deployed to Chicago.

Yesterday some non-insane Democrat aldermen were breaking with her for elevating Trump Derangement above keeping their citizens physically safe.
God I remember her...they have had some doozies in Chicago.
What this lying Beetlejuice looking mayor isn’t saying is, she knows what President Trump is proposing for cities like hers, and other cities overrun with crime is called “Operation Legend” which is a program to send more federal police - FBI, DOJ, ATF etc to these cities to work with and help local police departments, which they already do, this just adds more people to the job.
What is going on in Portland is called “Operation Diligent Valor” and involves Homeland Security and other agents physically defending Federal Property that is being threatened. The two have nothing to do with each other, they are totally separate issues.
These city officials know this, the media knows this, but they are either too stupid or too dishonest to say so.
Just like De Blasio, mayor of NYC who had twenty five cops guarding the BLM mural while crime is running rampant; continuing to blame Trump.

Yeah, she’ll be sure that Trump own any murders in Chicago from this point on. There will be ads using footage of Chicago’s violence (probably from weeks ago) and claiming it started happening now.
