This new manager is a disaster and the President’s surrendered all his instincts to him.

I don’t think so. What we are seeing here is a POTUS without the support of his own party. Sometimes it’s ugly. The GOP mayor of Jax kneecapped POTUS a couple days ago. I doubt he was expecting that.

The JAX mayor is Republican, but I don’t know if he’s a Trump supporter. I don’t know anything about the Jacksonville sheriff.

The Jax sheriff is basically a politician. He’s slippery and ducked out of the presser after kneecapping POTUS the other day. The previous Jax Sheriff is now solid GOPe Congressman John Rutherford.

I trust Trump’s political instincts and assume this was the right call. He’s usually right. I don’t think it’s a sell out. Just a practical decision. That said it’s too bad because for me it would have been enervating.

It’s called a decision, live with it.

Precisely. Why does everything on this board have to be viewed as some grand conspiracy?

Believe the polls or not, we really don’t know. BUT what we are being told is that Trump is way behind because of the way he is handling COVID. So, can’t we give him the benefit of the doubt that he knows what he is doing? He is taking the high road and I think it will help him.

Don’t you mean stop stating facts? The proof is in the pudding: just today China Mitch defied POTUS on renaming military bases. A Dem senate would never have done that in a million years to a Dem POTUS.

Every calculation POTUS makes must include the fact that his own party does not support his agenda. No other POTUS in history has had that issue.

It has become clear POTUS does not have local GOP support for the convention and almost certainly was facing a boycott from swamp GOPe, too. Given that it’s easy to see why he pulled the plug.

I had forgotten about Code Pink. They were a church choir compared to the Left’s newest thugs. I am of the mind that the WHOLE reason the President started the COVID talk these past two days was to use that as cover to cancel. He is privy to intelligence of which we have no comprehension. We neither want a bad look when we start fighting back or injured conservatives.

Trump’s doing more back pedaling lately than an NFL cornerback at training camp. Not good.

Next up, allow the military bases to scrub away all confederate names?

I don’t know. It’s not really necessary to hold it. They used to serve a purpose in the past when they actually would nominate the candidate.

If it risks getting people sick, and is sure to draw the domestic terrorist groups (who would then blame the violence on the GOP/Pres. Trump), why not do it in a different way ? Online speeches and whatnot. As another poster pointed out, the GOP convention just gives the media and pop culture more time to savage it.

That already appears to be in the works. The Senate passed a defense bill today which includes removing the names of Confederate heroes from a number of US military bases. The votes on it are enough to override a veto.

I can see him doing something highly energizing like flying out to the carrier Yorktown In Charleston to give his acceptance speech to an invited audience. All kinds of symbolism there!

Anc prob 30 million viewers or more

Exactly

Rhino mayor and the completely liberal city council were going to take a vote tomorrow night which would have been a no vote for the convention and the sheriff all said they couldn’t protect the convention but they can protect 70,000 people for a football game.

these people hate Trump so much that they will give up billions of dollars of Revenue that would have come in to Jacksonville just Freakin Unbelievable . and the Republican Party couldn’t pull this off and make them have the convention .

disgusting I’m in Jacksonville and I hate the Republicans at this point they’re useless
