A Minnesota judge on Tuesday lifted a gag order that restricted comments from attorneys and others associated with the criminal case concerning the four former Minneapolis police officers involved in the death of George Floyd.
Hennepin County District Judge Peter Cahill vacated the order after the move was met with pushback from a coalition of news organizations and attorneys representing the former officers, The Associated Press reported. In making the decision, Cahill said that he agreed with the argument from defense attorneys that a gag order would unfairly prevent their clients from addressing negative press reports.
"The gag order didn't work," Cahill said, according to The Minneapolis Star Tribune. "If anything it may have exacerbated the issue."
Cahill, however, did not rule on motions requesting the public release of body-camera footage from the arrest of Floyd, the Star Tribune noted.
The videos are only available to the public by appointment, which media organizations claim violates state law on access to public records. Multiple news outlets detailed what the body-cam footage showed last week after being granted access to it.

The democrat controlled media racist killing reporting was a deliberate miss portraying of the six foot seven inch 200 plus pound Floyd as an innocent black who was being forceably restrained because he was black not because he was resisting arrest.When He was legitimately arrested for passing a counterfeit $20 dollar bill he was resisting arrest and was a threat if not secured. But the media was not mentioning his size or reporting that Floyd was removed from a squad car because he was acting up under the influence of drugs and also later was discovered to have COVID 19. Which suggests his physical condition may have led to his death which the media turned into a murder change and a charge of serious abuse by police because of police efforts that were tried to get him who under control. The results of politically induced miss reporting incidents where blacks have resisted legitimate arrest began to be used earlier during and after the post Zimmmerman trial, then on to the Ferguson episode. Just like the noted case in Baltimore, where I believe six cops were charged with murder, all of them were judged not guilty. Sadly, George Floyd killed himself with a serious drug overdose. I can’t find any evidence for that.
Fentanyl causes death as the result of respiratory depression. While Floyd was conscious it wouldn’t have been a factor, but once he was unconscious Fentanyl may have contributed to his death. Also, Floyd had sickle cell trait which could have been a major factor in his death as well as his blocked coronary arteries.
Why does this seem to me that the case is in serious trouble and they are relaxing the gag order so that people can see that the case isn’t going anywhere?

Don’t forget- the officers were pretty sure he was sufferign from excited delerium- you can hear one officer mentio nthat- and it is likely why they called the ambulance even beofre he was subdued on the ground- Excited delerium happens in peopel who are high on drugs- fentanyl being one of hte major ones that contribute to the death during excited delirium
