If you had any doubts that power has gone to Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s head, his order that everyone has to eat when drinking at a New York bar should resolve the issue.
He theoretically has the power, since the Legislature basically made him a dictator for the duration of the pandemic with its grant of emergency powers before it fled Albany in early March. But it’s one thing to issue an order — another to make it stick.
Nonetheless, His Royal Highness Andrew I insists that New Yorkers at a restaurant or bar must order food, not just drink.
The rule applies statewide, but it’s Gotham that’s got his goat, as city residents have shown “significant evidence of failure to comply” with his previous orders, he claims.
“The concept here was bars and restaurants would be allowed to do outdoor dining. That is a dining situation. You go with several people, you sit at a table and you have a meal,” Cuomo said Thursday. “If you’re not eating a meal, and you’re just drinking, then it’s just an outdoor bar and people are mingling and they’re not isolated.”
So what? There’s no science here: The virus is no more likely to spread among people who are just drinking, rather than drinking and sharing some nachos. It’s pure, puritanical preference on the gov’s part.

If Cuomo had any brains in his skull, at least he'd have a brain. As it is now, his cranium is devoid of anything resembling an organ of intelligence.

Hey Cuomo, if several people at a restaurant are seated at a table taking in food,
1. They are mingling and not isolating anyways.
2. They can't comply with that compulsory face mask diktat. Why? Cause you can't eat and have a face mask on at the same time,unless you happen to be an insect. (Some people say Cuomo is in reality an insect.)
3. It is totally irrelevant whether they eat potato chips or drink as to whether they contract coronavirus or not.
What a bloody genius Cuomo is. He is almost as mentality retarded as Fauci.
I love eating as much as the next guy.
It’s the sheer stupidity and total lack of logic of thid diktat that gets me.
After 5 months of virtual house arrest, people need to get out of their homes. They don’t have to be forced to keep eating outside when they want to go have drinks with friends.

Yeah the Wuhan flu can make you sick but so can cancer, e-coli, mersa, polio, diphtheria, measles, leprosy and an STD. We didn’t ruin the economic and commit economic suicide for them.

The virus is smarter than Cuomo. Doesn’t take much for that to be true. Lol!
A bowl of peanuts, popcorn or chips at each table. It doesn’t say anything about buying, does it? So bar or restaurant can supply “beer nuts” for free.
