Many parts of the United States didn't do enough to combat the coronavirus -- but New York state did, Dr. Anthony Fauci said Friday.
“We've got to do the things that are very clear that we need to do to turn this around," Fauci told PBS NewsHour. "Remember, we can do it. We know that when you do it properly, you bring down those cases. We've done it. We've done it in New York."
"New York got hit worse than any place in the world. And they did it correctly by doing the things that you're talking about," added Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases -- and a member of the White House coronavirus task force.

Gov. Andrew Cuomo must have a short memory — either that or he’s just trying to distract attention from his administration’s deadly coronavirus failures by criticizing President Trump’s many lifesaving actions.
During a recent press conference, Cuomo took yet another cheap shot at Trump, arguing that the president’s handling of the COVID-19 pandemic was somehow worse than the infamous Watergate scandal.
“You look at the facts, the facts clearly demonstrate Trump was wrong from Day One, and New Yorkers have been right from Day One,” Cuomo bragged.
The problem is that Cuomo has been resoundingly — and tragically — wrong about the pandemic himself. And unlike the Trump “scandal” that exists only within Cuomo’s imagination, Cuomo’s failure of leadership has been very real. More people have died of COVID-19 in New York than in any other state — at least 6,000 of them in our nursing homes. That is not something to be proud of.
On March 25, Cuomo’s Department of Health issued a mandate forcing New York nursing homes to admit coronavirus patients — a move that alarmed infectious-disease experts nationwide.
“If you introduce 4,500 people sick with a potentially lethal disease into a vulnerable and notoriously imperfectly monitored population, people are apt to die,” said Dr. Charles Branas, chairman of the Epidemiology Department at Columbia’s Mailman School of Public Health.
The executive director of the Society for Post-Acute and Long-Term Care Medicine, Christopher Laxton, also sharply condemned Cuomo for failing to consult clinical experts prior to implementing the policy.
It’s on Trump that he is allowing Fauci’s lies and killing. Supporting so many people losing their jobs (despite protestations to the contrary). Advancing the forced Gates vaccine. Etc.

They did it correctly? What did they do correctly? Kill pensioners? Begged for resources they never used? Ny is the king in how to phuck up a response to a crisis, and the libs think it was perfect.
Well, I’m not sure this is what he had in mind, but if you use death rates (which is the most likely to be an accurate measurement since the meaning of “cases” has become so bastardized as to be useless) it appears that by allowing the disease to run lose among certain populations early in its presentation, they’re now either at or close to herd immunity.
While many other states had a spike in death rates at the end of June, New York had that enormous spike in March and April, and continued down the slope ever since. They had a little bump four weeks ago, but it bumped right down again.
Yup. There is some devilish reason why Trump has not overridden this liar.

If I had a loved one that died in a NY nursing home due to Covid, I would round up other families and lawyer up.
And imagine Fauci didn’t even have to get on his knees for Deblasio.
