Closures of schools and day-care centres have little effect on coronavirus cases diagnosed among children and young people

Closing schools and day-care centres had only a small impact on the number of cases of coronavirus diagnosed among children and young people. Coronavirus infections requiring intensive care are rare among children and young people. The information is from a report comparing coronavirus infections diagnosed among people aged 1-19 and the resulting intensive care treatment periods and deaths in Finland and Sweden.

In Finland schools and day-care centres were closed from mid-March through mid-May, while in Sweden, comprehensive schools and day-care centres were open all spring. In spite of this, there are no significant differences in the incidence of coronavirus infections among those aged 1-19.

Closure, effective house arrests, forced business shutdowns, masks, and purported increase of this COVID -19 has nothing to do with any kind of medical emergency but has everything to do with the Left seizing every apparent opportunity to take Trump and America down through extreme Leftist demagoguery.

Trump will take 2020 in a land slide.

The concern is 2024 as we are one election away from losing America.

Really? All these closures - house arrests - are happening while he is president. Why is that going to make people so satisfied that they’ll re-elect him?

I obviously want him to win, but I’m wondering what he’s doing to free me and my family from house arrest. I don’t see that he’s doing anything. Is he promising to withhold stimulus from shutdown state’s? No. Is he having Barr sue shutdown states? No. Is he traveling to shutdown states to hold press conferences to highlight the injustice and call for an end? No

But he’ll tweet about Joe Scarboroughs ratings, so that makes it alright

Here’s the science:

https://off-guardian.org/2020/07/07/second-wave-not-even-close/

It’s the best available. According to this, and the whole country should be at stage 4. The more interaction now the better.

Trump has actually got to do something about these out of control dictator governors (and mayors) and their unconstitutional orders. He doesn’t even criticize them, except obliquely and he’s got to get out and lead on this.

He was the one who ceded the presidency to Fauci and issued the emergency order that has essentially let the state bureaucracies run wild. (Although actually I blame Pence, who is well meaning but naive, but even so, Trump shouldn’t have turned over the decision making to him.)

Now that the governors are hyping their longed for but non-existent “second wave,” Trump has got to get out there and lead and also use what ever powers he has to make them respect our constitutional rights, liberties and guarantees.

Anybody with half a brain knows it is the Leftist governors and officials making all this happen. Just talk to the average man on the street.

All the COVID BS and Antifa/BLM BS is going to bite hard on the Dems. There’s strong sense that they’ve blown it so bad with their “early push” and overreach that they may lose both houses of Congress.

There is no doubt in my mind Trump will win in a landslide. Look at who he’s running against. This thing hasn’t even started. Wait until they get a load of sleepy, demented Joe and Trump turns on the afterburners. It’ll be quite a show.

The real question is who’s the outsider that’s going to take over with the same nerve, fortitude, and skill as Trump in 2024. Haven’t seen him yet.

As of now, Trump apparently is ok with sending stimulus money , stimulus no 4 or 5, to states that have shut down their schools and economies, without any demand that they reopen

The feds have no constitutional say about out-of-control governors - they are the responsibility of the people of that constitutionally sovereign state.

What’s worse than the OOC governors is the WAY OOC $4 trillion totalitarian federal government that is poised to rip America apart given the chance with the wrong guy as President.

NOBODY talks about the Constitution which CREATED the USA and is the ONLY authority for federal acts, and is the ONLY legal bulwark of freedom again federal tyranny.

America - WAKE UP!!!!

Governor Newsom tomorrow in CA is going to make some sort of sweeping announcement about schools—I’m hoping it’s “only” that schools can’t reopen until after Labor Day (that’s the rumor of the announcement).

I’m worried he will dictate 100% remote for all schools. For the whole year. For private schools too. Or whatever. Who knows.

I can guarantee that is the only and #1 concern of every parent right now in the US. Schools are toppling like dominoes all over the nation and refusing to reopen. The unions are so strong. Now “afterschool programs” are announcing they will instead be open full day, in effect becoming the new schools.

I want Trump to declare schools essential and urge (require?) their reopening as he did for the meatpacking plants.

The science doesn’t support keeping schools closed. Children don’t seem to transmit the virus much and they are nearly unaffected by it.

But millions of parents and students are being affected being denied education (and yes, childcare so working parents can work, whether in the home or not).

Trump needs to wake up and see that “fall” and the issue of school reopenings is now here. Schools were supposed to start in 3 weeks (many of them). The rest of the Western world reopened their schools. The United States is currently poised to not follow suit.

first, we have to keep in mind the Teachers Union is the Democrat Party.

Thus, anything the Teachers Union can do to disrupt the Republicans is just party politics.

The Democrats want to force the Republicans to be the ones opening schools. And the Democrats are hoping there will be one death of a child with major underlying health conditions so they can, in conjunction with the Democrat media, hammer the Republicans in November.

Every country in the world could be like Finland and the Teachers Union will still oppose reopening the schools.

What’s your point? Trump should let the teacher unions have their way?

The feds have no constitutional say about out-of-control governors - “

BS. Feds are about to send out more stimulus money. Trump can say, “not a dime of you don’t open up. “. He can say he won’t sign a bill that rewards shutdown states

The Constitution gives the feds NO AUTHORITY over constitutionally sovereign state governors and federal funding doesn’t change that. The feds don’t legally become totalitarian because of their freaking funding. Federal funding does not constitutionally allow the feds to make America a totalitarian regime.

Your argument is for MORE totalitarian federal government - THAT will be the downfall of America.

So you believe in federal subsidies with no strings attached. “HERE gov Cuomo, take this money from American taxpayers and spend it as you please, because you’re ‘sovereign’ ”

Do you understand that the feds often FORCE their funds to be taken and for the very reason you’re giving - that their funding justifies their unlimited power and unconstitutional acts.

No way.

The greatest threat to our way of life, liberties and well being is the massively off-the-rails, out-of -control, mostly unconstitutional and illegal federal government.

Too many on the Right make excuses for their excesses and oppression instead of standing against it. Either its tyranny goes or we go.

Dunno.

1) Gut.

2) Trump himself, who doesn’t know how to lose.

3) His massive appeal. His massive rallies.

4) Maybe the idea that the American People haven’t completely lost their minds.

5) The fact that Hillary was the heir apparent, a shoe-in and Biden is relatively weak, an embarrassment to the Dems, and will almost certainly falter in the coming months. Does he have Alzheimers? Who knows? Will he even make it to the election? Who knows? But Trump almost certainly will take him apart at the debates. Biden should do much worse than Hillary.

6) The radical Dems have gone off the deep end and America is not going with them.

7) I guess common sense tells me this should be a one-sided election.

8) And also, because I believe God still has a purpose for America in these last days.
