Robert Redfield, director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, believes "the most powerful weapon we have" against the novel coronavirus is wearing face coverings, washing hands and "being smart about social distancing."
"If we all rigorously did this, we could really bring this outbreak back to where it needs to be," Redfield told the Journal of the American Medical Association via video on Tuesday.
Coronavirus cases are surging across the U.S., from California to Texas to Florida. More than 3.4 million people in the country have been diagnosed with the coronavirus and over 136,00 people have died.
To Redfield, a major key to controlling the pandemic is wearing masks.

I had to go into two hospitals yesterday. First hospital I wore my N95 mask. No problem. 2nd hospital refused my mask and gave me one of their cheaper ones. My N95 had the flapper exhaust valve. They said it was no longer approved at their hospitals.
I assume then that California and Arizona, where most counties have required masks for the last 4 weeks, now have everything under control?
Oh yeah...cases still going like gang-busters, although deaths are not.

and just this week I was ratted out for doing just that by what I am sure was some blue haired biddie, and confronted by a weasly store manager, and got more steamed than I should have, said things I shouldn’t have, and in general have come to dislike the people I share space with in order to live my life quite a bit...
No time frame. Eventually synonyms: finally, someday, sometime, sooner or later, ultimately, yet. Maybe after 11/4/2020. Maybe before. Maybe not. Only certainty: no termination date for stupid.
In my local German town (Wiesbaden, 285k residents), the number of infected since day one...is around 490 (about 440 well at this point), and 22 dead (most all of them over 70, with secondary conditions like diabetes, COPD, etc).
You can do various statistical analysis over this...it’s just awful low, but there’s around 30-odd ban-rules that went into place in April, and still maybe 10 ban-rules in place at this point.
Everything we do only postpones the inevitable. This virus is going to run its course and we can’t hide from it.
We can wreak the world wide economy to the point of a collapse that’s worse than the last depression and it will still run its course.
Only difference is that a collapse will kill more people then even the most liberal estimates of what the virus would kill.
I do believe that some social distancing and masks can help protect the more vulnerable but a total shutdown is just colossal stupid, which is what California just did and what Texas is talking about.

Also local Cali news channels are frantically reporting "spike in cases!" "hospitals full!" "Covid 19 cases shatter record!"
Doesn't anybody find it odd that CCP virus is baaaaack immediately after the riots, but NOTHING was said about it during the mayhem?
Beginning to think they are lying about EVERYTHING-the numbers, accuracy of tests, the hospitalizations, all of it.
They keep saying testing (Testing for antibodies or what? Positive for anti-b's means you ALREADY had it), is the key to stopping the virus. No, it' s the key to CONTINUING THE PANIC AND DESTROYING THE ECONOMY.
Too bad we don't have real journalists to look into, if what MSM is reporting, is actually true.
(Feel like going to shopping area, and setting up in parking lot with a bullhorn, and start telling people they're being lied to. Give them websites to look into, "the rest of the story", so to speak-It's not like the media will ever fact check themselves, or question any information the DNC tells them to report on.)

I used to be a lab tech back in the day. In one of my jobs, we were experimenting with concocting a usable vaccine for young children, and “naked” mice were our subjects. They had no immune systems to speak of. When we got to the part where we were injecting them with the bacteria, we were in completely sterile rooms and were completely gowned, masked, and gloved in order to hopefully infect our mouse “patients” with the only thing we wanted them to be infected with, Haemophilus influenza type B, IIRC. Our masks and garb were worn to protect our “patients” from getting anything from us, not to protect us from them or the HiB.
