Liberty University president Jerry Falwell Jr. joined "Hannity" Wednesday to explain why the school filed a $10 million defamation lawsuit against The New York Times over its coverage of the university's response to the coronavirus pandemic.
"Not only are they a bigoted bunch of liars, and also [a] BuzzFeed type click bait publication now," Falwell told host Sean Hannity. "But they're also stupid, because they came on campus. We had 25, at least, 'No Trespassing' signs everywhere, and they were dumb enough to take pictures of the signs and publish them.
"So we got warrants out for their arrest and they had to cut a deal with a local prosecutor to keep from going to jail," Falwell added. "That's how dumb they are."

how the hell can they just cut a deal with prosecutors to avoid jail time?
I doubt that the courts would jail a journalist for trespassing considering the police do nothing to the people who, loot, burn, and topple statues.
Same club, special treatment.
Its Lynchburg, not Portland.
I wish the article told us what kind of deal the prosecutor made. No doubt he was afraid to take on the NYSlimes.

hey, give the cops a break; they do a great job of breaking up groups of white people not social distancing...
Terry McCauliffe just trying to cause an uprising at another VA university to get himself some attention.
He needs to shut his big mouth. But that’s close to impossible for a tv preacher.
Why?
Liberty is a very good school and one of few; a very good friend of mine is a professor at Liberty and there are a lot just like him. I’ve never seen Jerry Jr. preach on TV; what channel/program? You disagree with his claim that the Times reporters are a bunch of liars?
trouble is too many people on our side are quiet and not speaking, much less acting.
