Face masks and two-week quarantines for travelers entering Massachusetts from COVID-19 hot spots would be required under a bill filed at the Statehouse on Tuesday.
The bill would also prioritize COVID-19 testing for vulnerable populations and mandate enforcement of workplace safety requirements designed to protect both workers and the public.
Both the face mask and quarantine requirements would be enforced with fines under the bill.
Republican Gov. Charlie Baker has already ordered the wearing of masks and has advised visitors to Massachusetts to quarantine for two weeks — except for a handful of nearby states.
One of the sponsors of the bill, state Sen. Harriet Chandler, D-Worcester, said with no vaccine yet available, the state needs to write the public health protocols into law.
“We have proven practices to curb the spread of viral infection: wearing face masks, ensuring widely available testing, finalizing formal workplace safety standards, and quarantining tourists coming from hotbed states,” Chandler said in a press release. “But they only work if we all participate.”

Though why anyone would want to come to NYS anymore is beyond me.

Be patiotic. Wear a mask. Make the sacrifice. It’s not like someone is asking you to storm Omaha Beach.

Let them destroy tourism in their state. People will see they have plenty of things the can visit/do locally, no need to travel.
Watch as next year they are begging people to visit what is left of their tourist industry.
I’m afraid I’m too lazy to check, but I thought the Constitution restricted this sort of thing. We (theoretically) have a real border with Mexico or Canada. But the “border” between NY and VT (for instance) is not something that gets “closed” to people.
Don’t you know, NY was the shining example of CCPVirus where Cuomo save the state unlike that idiot Rep. Gov in FL.
Just don’t ask about the nursing homes or 53’ trailers full of bodies in NYC.

I can easily avoid Mass. I have absolutely no reason, or the funds, to go there & now they have made it even easier. Suppose someone just wanted to go there & see a few sights & return home. But they want a lengthy quarantine? That would tend to make a decision for you I guess. An easy choice has already been made for me. I wouldn’t go there now if I was paid.
PENN has done the same. My sister just cancelled her flight to see friends.

All this stuff is getting to be an annoying pain in the ass now, but I predict a tidal wave of blow back in November. These statists and control freaks have a really PO’d electorate right now. This wont be tolerated at the polls.
