:: Wayfair confirms there is ‘no truth’ to conspiracy theories about human trafficking The online retailer Wayfair responded to reporters’ individual inquiries into a conspiracy theory that gained traction on Friday that it was allegedly using storage cabinets to ship children. ::

Read that gain...S L O W L Y.

Trafficking children by using storage cabinets is NOT what is alleged.
Actually, nothing is alleged.
Everything I’ve read indicates coordinating “open source” information to point the curious to think for themselves.
Prices are astronomical.
Why?
Names look strange for furniture.
Why?
Wayfair releases a statement about the questions being asked but...never defends its pricing.
Why?
Is it bias coinfirmation?
Maybe.
It is the definition of /fascism/ to censor those questions with which you don’t agree.
And even worse, to censor members of this forum because YOU think it makes FR look crazy.

OK, Karen.

Think for yourself and PLEASE don’t think for me.
YMMV

Wayfair is a third party seller site like eBay or amazon. The prices are astronomical either because of a database mistake or the seller is buying the items elsewhere and marking them up again.

You can see the same on Amazon where a book that you can buy for pennies is also offered for $500 by another seller. Are those overpriced amazon books also involved in child trafficking???? Obviously, not.

It’s better to say nothing....

Wayfair is a marketing organization for other vendors. Wayfair does not warehouse everything they sell. For example, we purchased some furniture from Wayfair when we first moved to Utah last September. Two pieces were shipped from a third-party vendor in South Carolina, and a third from a dealer in California.

The point I am making is there is no way that Wayfair can inspect every one of the thousands of items in their catalog being offered to assure it is legitimately what is being offered for that price. They can only stand behind it when the customer complains they did not get what they ordered from the vendor.

It is possible that Wayfair is complicit in the scheme, but it is also possible they are not. Or, it’s entirely possible that there is no there, there, and these cabinets are just exactly as described at these prices for some inexplicable reason due to specific purpose built needs.

I bought a white cabinet about a month ago after shopping for just the right one over about 2-3 weeks. Mostly Wayfair. I noticed these astronomical prices for plain looking cabinets and concluded they were mistakes, glitches. Seperately I also wondered what was with all the female names. Some unusual. I noticed, but never did I think it related to the worst evil.
