I think it’s pretty clear.
Occasionally there is a news story of some horror visited upon tourists who stray into the no-go zones; I blame these schemes for those incidents. The dangers are concealed from them, and their lives are at risk.
When a new arena was built in Newark NJ to edge out the Meadowland arena, a concertgoer was attacked (nothing life-threatening) and the story was buried - because they couldn’t let the truth get out that Newark is a dangerous place. There is no real parking at the location, but deals were made with companies in the area to use their lots at night. The problem was that you were exposed waiting for shuttles on corners several blocks from the relative safety of the arena itself; locals all knew better, and the place never attracted the anticipated crowds.
They’ve even been disingenuous with that, labeling 18- and 19-year-olds “teens” (which they technically are), but trying to give the impression it was younger kids horsing around instead of deadly adult perps.
Why?
What are the reasons that happens?
Just by not posting will tell you ....
But probably have no issue with cancel culture.
Better stop publishing names, too, cuz . . .
Reporting suspects as Shanaynay and DaLirius will be exposing the stereotype just as badly.
And no reporting of 14-month old shooting victims in the front seat of a car at 2 a.m.
And any arrest for trashing up a burger joint oven not getting enough honey mustard.
And block parties that end in fireworks of the 9mm variety.
And big-screen TV mob acquisitions as well.
Oh, and nooses hanging on doorknobs.
Stereotypes, man. I hate them. Stop reporting them at all.
Following the link trail:
“This policy emerges from compelling research suggesting that the widespread publication of police booking photos in the news and on social media creates an illusory correlation for viewers”
Naturally, no link to this “research” is supplied - nor any hint as to how one could measure an “illusory correlation” over and above the actual correlation that exists.
Like that White, Irish suspect Ja’Shawan Abdullah bin Mamhud? (jk)
Right - or like that “Canadian” Marc Lepine (born Gamil Rodrigue Liass Gharbi)
“Only white peoples mug shots from now on.”
______
Those will be the limited exceptions.
‘Zactly! Or even better (way worse actually), that SOB that True-dope gave $10 million, Omar Khadr!
So creepy having these animals roam free; imagine living within 100 miles of him?
My first thought, too.
An article about a true crime reality show a few years ago had a reporter ask how do they handle diversity problems about the arrest subjects.
The producer said they have folders with pictures and printouts and flip through around 25 or so before they find a white to balance the blacks, so they won't have too many blacks in a row.
Reminds me of the Jeff Foxworthy joke: You might be a redneck if your mother has twice been the subject of an episode of True Stories of the Highway Patrol.
So, I guess stopping someone from looting your store is doubly racist.
Lyft and Uber probably would do well there.
The SOB lives less than 200 miles away in Edmonton. Hopefully he’s contracted, or will soon contract a deadly case of CCP-Coronavirus.
Is the SacBee going to publish photos of “Most Wanted”?
I think not.
