On the evening of May 31, Eldon Hawkins unwittingly drove his burgundy 2010 Buick LaCrosse sedan into the heart of a protest at Broad and High streets and unleashed a furious response.
Hawkins, 58, who has cerebral palsy, said he was left shaken by the experience, and damage to his car topped $8,000. He spoke about what happened during Mondays Columbus City Council meeting.
Columbus police on Wednesday afternoon released a compilation of videos of the incident, which occurred around 7 p.m. Police are asking for help in identifying who might have been involved.

Why do cops allow this?
Exactly.
Listen, and understand. That terminator is out there. It cant be bargained with. It cant be reasoned with. It doesnt feel pity, or remorse, or fear. And it absolutely will not stop, ever, until you are dead.
The Terminator
In this case “until your nation and way of life are dead”.
not a police issue, democratic local government......
Because they are parasites too. Sucking up a paycheck, benefits and retirement while popping donuts and sucking down quarts of coffee. Then when you protect yourself from dirtbags, You get arrested and charged, because you have a income and assets they can tap into to keep their retirement fund in the green.
The Far Left Columbus Dispatch also cheered the Rioters/ Protesters. Since the Wolfe Family sold the Dispatch, to Gatehouse, the “newspaper” has become a leftist communist rag.
“Just checked Edmunds and a 2010 LaCrosse with a typical 100,000 miles on it had a dealer retail of $4800, so the mob totaled it.”
The guy was probably only carrying Liability Insurance and so won’t get a dime.
Chances are their political bosses ordered them to stand down and allow it.
Because the Dems who run the city sign their paychecks and ordered the cops to allow it.
In Georgia it is legal to carry in your car, even without a conceal carry permit, so long as the firearm is in plain view.
I never leave home without it now.
Upon the first window crack, it would be very apparent that my life would be in very serious danger, and I would respond in an appropriate manner.
I dont think it has to be in plain view. But does have to be unloaded and in a case. I think the glove box or console is a case, but IIANALNDIPOOTV.

When Trump wins re-election, I hope he unleashes the 82nd Airborne on these people. See how tough they really are.
Precisely.
And that will be national news, unlike the many events like this that have happened in the GF Riots.
“informs citizens when and where Democrats are attacking people in the street.”
They’re no longer democrats, they are terrorists and should be sent to GITMO.
Normally, i would agree with you. But after hearing about what happened with George Floyd and Atlanta, and at Mt. Rushmore,I agree with the Police. The Police have finally understood if they muss the hair on one of the terrorists,no matter how many people’s brains they beat out, they are going up the river for a long time. As will you,and/or me. It is best to leave them alone. Avoid them. Drive with your windows down and your radio turned down. Usually when a gang has a street blocked off they make so much noise barking, braying, and baying that they can be heard for blocks if one is paying attention. And the price for not paying attention could be your life. Again, you use common sense.

All they need to do is show equal indifference when the armed citizen rises up to solve the problem.
But as the praetorian guard of the political class - which perceives such citizen actions as a dire threat to the perpetuation of its own existence - I doubt the police will remain so passive.
like a bad weather/flash flood alert on your cell phone
