In Georgia it is legal to carry in your car, even without a conceal carry permit, so long as the firearm is in plain view.

I never leave home without it now.

Upon the first window crack, it would be very apparent that my life would be in very serious danger, and I would respond in an appropriate manner.

I don’t think it has to be in plain view. But does have to be unloaded and in a case. I think the glove box or console is a “case”, but IIANALNDIPOOTV.
