SEATTLE — The father of 24-year-old Summer Taylor, the protester who was killed on I-5 early Saturday morning, called for King County detective Mike Brown to be fired immediately for Facebook posts that seemed to make light of the fatal crash.
“There are a lot of hateful people saying hateful things about my child who’s gone,” Matt Taylor said Wednesday. “Including people at the King County Sheriff’s (Office).”

His child is gone because some error in her raising lead her to walk out onto a public street.

Those people should be directing their criticism squarely at you for doing such a poor job of raising your offspring that she illegally blocks traffic on an interstate highway and gets hit and killed by an innocent man.
You should have taught your daughter not to play in the highway.
One of the officers (foolishly!) posted “All Lives Splatter” on Facebook. That’s what their mainly upset about.
I sympathize with the parents of the killed protester, but it seems that they are putting a lot of energy into pointing fingers and affixing blame of some sort.
The main people to blame for this tragedy would have to be the two protesters themselves. Even still, it was not smart or professional to post wisecracks online, where the families, or anyone could read them.
His child is gone because she made a stupid decision to trespass on an interstate highway in the middle of the night.
I heard somewhere that the detective in question is/was part of an executive driving detail. Plowing through violent protesters is part of his training mindset if that’s true. Poor judgement, at any rate.

I understand the father’s feelings. If the Facebook “joke” was on the detective’s PRIVATE account it was in poor taste but shouldn’t get him fired, IMHO. The father wants to engage in the current “cancel culture” insanity currently sweeping the nation. I would think he would recognize that that insanity sweeping the nation essentially got his daughter killed. She was doing STUPID things and suffered the ultimate price to be paid for her involvement... the loss of her life.
