MINNEAPOLIS For weeks now many white people have been asking, as a white person, what do I do?
How can I be an ally in the fight for racial equity in our community, in our state, in our country AND DO SO RESPECTFUL of the space that has already been created by people of color?
How do I help - and also - not overstep?
Sarah Bellamy, of Penumbra Theatre, one of three African American stages in the whole country that performs a full season, has been in the work of racial equity her entire life. She was kind enough to have this talk with Jana Shortal.
I think the impulse to want to do something - that is a really good thing. I think a lot of people are waking up to some of the incredible disparities that exist in Minnesota, Bellamy said.
She also added, go further though.
A Black Lives Matter sign in your yard, or at your business alongside a few Facebook posts and tweets supporting the movement, that's not going further.
That, Bellamy says, is bare minimum kind of stuff. "Its not enough to say 'I agree to that it was wrong what happened.' What are you going to do about it? I think it's important for white people to understand that there is a powerful role they can play in this moment. This is not the moment to sit back and say let me let someone else do the work, it is to lean in and say I may not know how but I want to get involved, Bellamy said.
That leaning in she says - is taking more weight of the work of racial equity off the backs of people of color - and doing it on our own.

When the incarceration rates of black males is brought they don't want to talk about that.
Not sure what else there is to talk about until those two items are fixed.
Liberals are going to overplay their hand and nobody will care about racism any longer.
in our community, in our state, in our country AND DO SO RESPECTFUL of the space that has already been created by people of color?
And and and.. how can I not so respectfully tell these people to kiss my ass?
Eff off! I am allowed to have whatever views and values I want as long as I don’t infringe on your liberty.
For instance, I could hate Italians. I could hate Asians. I could hate pasty faced liberal authoritarians.
Does not matter. It’s my choice.
Once again, ‘eff off.
I will do my part by staying as far away as possible from these people.
They want my property, my bank account and everything else I’ve spent the last 30 years earning by getting up at 5:30 in the morning, going to work and sacrificing a lot of things to build a good, secure and safe life for myself and my family.
They can have same if they wish to work for it and not blame me and others of my ilk for all of their problems and shortcomings.
For weeks now many white people have been asking, as a white person, what do I do?
Put a gun in your mouth and pull the trigger?
Love the Lord Thy God
Love Thy Neighbor as Thyself
start there
The second Command is an algebra equation
(Love of Neighbor) = (Love of Self)
"To comply with BLM's current White Guilt Elimination requirements, please perform the following steps:
1) Sell your house.
2) Sell your cars.
3) Sell your kids.
4) Put all of your cash and firearms into a convenient BLM Express donation box near your location.
5) Lie face down in the nearest street.
6) Wait patiently for a BLM representative to arrive and put a complimentary Guilt Relief bullet in the back of your head.
"Wait times are currently between six and twelve hours.
"To speak with BLM representative about our Express Service, which can reduce your wait time to less than sixty minutes, please press 2 now."
We already did our racism work.
In 1964 and again in 1968, it was our team that had to force both Civil Rights Acts through Congress. Dems were pushing against both laws.
It was a Republican president (Eisenhower) who sent the military in to open the school doors at Little Rock.
With the dems legacy of the KKK, Southern Manifesto, George Wallace, Exalted Cyclops Robert Byrd, and so much more, if anyone has a racism problem in need of fixing, its democrats, not us.
If a black person can’t make now with affirmative action, grants, race based scholarships, loans and hiring quotas then they are complete losers and they know it. That’s the rub. Over the last 30 years, society has bent over back wards to ensure any black that tried even a little would make it, damn ability. Blacks know this and it makes them feel even worse for failing to make it now. The built in excuse of the past, “institutional” racism, is gone. If a black can’t make it now then they really are f’d up.
They want your stuff. Your house, cars, money. They do not care about your words or apologies. Just hand over your stuff.
What do they want and the thing is, none of this could have happened without white support. They pretty much have it all, such as:
Black city leaders
Black Congressional caucus
Black local, federal and state government employees (High percentages)
Black POTUS for eight years
Black domination of most sports
Black television commercials (dominate)
and the blacklist could go on and on
The political right wing bears a lot of responsibility here. Did the right ( Bushie globalists ) think that offshoring millions of decent paying low and middle skilled industrial jobs would have no social impact?
There was some work done in the 1860s as well.
Anti-white racism needs to be fought. The first step is for whites to have some self-respect and respect the work and struggles of their ancestors.
Ive been listening to this sh1t for 60+ years. Ive been expected to bend over backwards for blacks who make no effort to get along. Im over it. No guilt here. No more effort. None. Sink or swim.
Kill yourself.
