Same . I grew up in a slum of an area with foster parents and then a foster mother who kept me for the money she got. No hope for me I went into the military. Did my years in a combat unit, came to this country and worked over 80 hours in 4 jobs. I got a lower rent due ot me working on the place and improving it when I was not working.
I now have my paid off house though it is a small one but big enough for me. Now 2 of my kids have joined the military and my youngest has just been sworn into the Marines to follow the family. Youngest is at work right now and is every day 5 days a week whilst on school vacation.
These go fund crap is about wanting others to give you money and not working for it. I never took a dime off anyone and hate those who have their hands out
