About a dozen businesses and residents located in and around Seattles autonomous protest zone sued the city Wednesday arguing their constitutional rights to property are being violated.
The class-action suit claims the group have had their rights overrun by the city of Seattles unprecedented decision to abandon and close off an entire city neighborhood.
The so-called Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone, which sprouted up on June 8, has been unchecked by police, unserved by fire and emergency health services, and inaccessible to the public at large, the lawsuit said.

Won’t get anywhere. The city will retreat behind sovereign immunity and thumb their noses at the plaintiffs or worse.

Chazturdistan.
Cities do not have sovereign immunity. A state does.
Maybe they should think before they vote.

Feeling colonized? LOL!!
Sue the state too. Sovereign immunity is nothing more than what the lawyers will argue about. Same as any contract.
Good luck to those who sue for the protection of their property from confiscation by politicians for the benefit of rioters.
But hard to feel sympathy for those who elect those politicians.

Hey, this is Democrat territory, where the Constitution is a living, breathing document.

The lawsuit may not prevail but it is definitely worth the effort.
If they have really sharp attorneys they may find some way to throw something at the wall and make it stick—laws these days are _very_ complex.
The litigation is demanding compensation—for damage done—it is irrelevant whether the damage continues to be done.
Don’t sue the city. Sue the Mayor and Gov personally.
