Two Tampa police officers were injured early Saturday after a crowd of hundreds surrounded a group of officers in an "ambush," the Tampa police chief said.
Officers were responding to a report of shots fired and a possible gunshot victim at an intersection near the Ybor City neighborhood around 1 a.m., Chief Brian Duggan told reporters Monday. A crowd of hundreds was at the scene when police arrived.
One officer was hit in the head with an object and suffered a small laceration and swelling, police said. The officer was treated and released from the hospital. A second officer who was hit in the head with a glass bottle is also expected to be OK.
Aerial footage from the scene shows a crowd surrounding officers at an intersection and officials can be heard over audio saying that an officer had been struck with a bottle. At one point, a large group of the crowd can be seen running away down the street.
There were hundreds of them, Dugan said, referring to the crowd. Hundreds. We actually ended up having to call every single police officer that was available that night to respond there, from New Tampa to South Tampa.
Duggan said that over 100 officers responded to the scene. One person was arrested.

All participants should have been arrested
Meanwhile, a SWAT team gets sent out to haul in Roger Stone.
And 15 FBI agents get sent to investigate a hoax
Yup, CW-II is close at hand.
This story is 5 days old.
How long is this Country going to let this go on?
I thought NOTHING could shake my faith in Trump.. WHY hasn’t he called the military in and get these idiots out of commission????
Ambush.
Who didn’t see this coming. I’m just surprised they weren’t armed and shooting.
“Yup, CW-II is close at hand.”
It’s already here.
Nope. CW-II won’t happen. The right won’t fire a shot, at least not as a group. Individuals will be hunted down by the Deep State, BLM, Anitfa, and the police and made examples of.
Joggers out for a jog?
Because it’s illegal.
Dry run, that's for next time. Seriously, these are insurgents, they have trained for this apparently for a long time. Same with fireworks activity (to assess response, get complacency so when they do armed incursion there will be no rapid response), the "standard" riot gear (notice everyone has a skateboard (shield, weapon), who knew everyone was a skateboarder). This is a well planned, well organized Marxist insurgency.
Once you let that Genie out of the bottle, you can't easily put it back.
Paatience, my friend, is hard, but necessary.
Throw a piece of rope down and tell them a noose was found at the scene.
They keep poking the bear, they will get a very big surprise.
If they were attacking federal property, or federal officers, Trump could act directly in that instance. Otherwise, our system of government makes this a state responsibility.

While waiting we need to arm up our households, relatives and neighbors. If you have not made plans you need to start planning now.
I am setting up areas for sister’s family and mother (refugees) to come and stay on my land. They live in a heavy democrat town and will be targeted if they stay.
Review where you live and determine if you want to live there if everything falls apart.
NO! , All parties should have been shot at.
