Millions of Americans took to the streets on Juneteenth to celebrate the abolition of slavery, with anti-racism marches and peaceful rallies held to celebrate Black lives - as New York City and other places formally made the day an official holiday. The Juneteenth celebrations held across the United States are meant to be a commemoration of progress, but this year the mass gatherings are taking place amid nationwide protests against racial injustice at the hands of law enforcement. The death of George Floyd, a 46-year-old African American man who was killed in police custody, and other minorities has brought a heightened sense of urgency to call for equality during this year's celebrations.

Those perky “peaceful rallies” again. Except there was nothing peaceful about it. They left a wide swathe of violence, wanton destruction of statues and mayhem across the country in their wake.

Next year it’s on a Saturday. Nobody will be out celebrating the day Republicans officially declared slaves free from the Democrats.
Yeah but there was some magical moment where the parties “swapped places” and now Lincoln and MLK Jr would be Dems....but JFK would stay a Dem through some warped logic I’ve never figured out.

From what I could tell on the fake news broadcasts, just like the BLM “protests”, the Juneteenth “celebration” consisted of mostly young white people. Talk about a Jonestown like cult.
Nothing wrong with celebrating Juneteenth, but they have profaned it by trampling parks and setting fires.
Why not remind people that those who say “forget it, there were slaves throughout history, the Bible is full of slavery” are dead wrong, because what should be remembered is the Bible message on this subject: Again and again throughout the Old Testament it says to pay the worker for his toil.
Until Trump's proposed rally date lined up with June 19th, practically no one had even heard of "Juneteenth." Sure, everyone was taught in school that Lincoln freed the slaves, but the date wasn't ever mentioned as a celebratory national holiday. Now, this date is more important than ... I don't know ... Memorial Day? Kwaanza?
The USA has become a nation with a significant population percentage of sheep, or lemmings. As modeled in "Animal Farm."
