Is Joe Biden experiencing dementia? That’s a question the pollsters at Zogby International posed to 1,007 “likely voters.”

The results were surprising: 55% said they think the former vice president, 77, “is in the early stages of dementia.”

“Overall, subgroups who normally approve of Trump’s job as president, were the most likely to believe Biden could be suffering from dementia,” the poll found. “Thus, majorities of Republicans (77% more likely/23% less likely) and Independents (56% more likely/44% less likely) thought Joe Biden had early-onset dementia; while nearly a third of Democrats (32% more likely/68% less likely) thought this was the case.”

This is a rapid thing. If you go and look at debate video for mid-2019...you don’t see many indicators. It’s somewhere around December of 2019, where you notice a few things, and it really takes off by late January 2020. I would be guessing over the Christmas holidays, he had some type of mini-stroke or seizure.

But I suspect the gimmick here...once he picks the VP choice, within two weeks, the family will announce a full-up heart-attack, and he’ll resign from the campaign. They won’t ever go and admit dementia. The VP will take charge and become the Presidential candidate, and pick her own VP. Joe will barely be remembered as election swings around.

Biden like many politicians has always been prone to daffy statements that fit partisan preconceptions. Remember his infamous 2008, “When the stock market crashed, Franklin D. Roosevelt got on the television and didn’t just talk about the, you know, the princes of greed. He said, ‘Look, here’s what happened.’ ”

What’s loopy about this claim isn’t that Biden didn’t know there weren’t television broadcasts in 1929. It’s that he didn’t know FDR wasn’t president, and that American politics was revolutionized by the Great Depression precisely because the incumbent Republicans got blamed for it and voters didn’t trust them with the economy again for another half century.

This is very interesting. If the majority of Americans think he has the early stages of dementia, why do we keep seeing other polls showing Biden in the lead over Trump?
