A judge on Tuesday denied an emergency motion to stop President Donald Trump's campaign rally in Tulsa, Oklahoma, on Saturday.
The decision came after local lawyers asked the court to block the event unless organizers agreed to take steps to adhere to the administration's own social distancing recommendations to limit the spread of coronavirus. Paul DeMuro, one of the attorneys on the lawsuit trying to block the rally, said that -- despite the emergency motion to block the rally being denied -- the case will head to the state Supreme Court.
"The lawsuit is still intact and moving forward," DeMuro told CNN. "We will continue to fight in the Oklahoma Supreme Court."
Visit CNN's Election Center for full coverage of the 2020 race Citing Tulsa health department statistics showing that the highest new coronavirus case count occurred this Monday, the lawyers are suing the parent company of the Bank of Oklahoma Center, the venue slated to host the rally, alleging "despite this alarming uptick in COVID-19 infections in Tulsa County, ASM Global plans to bring tens of thousands of people into an enclosed arena in downtown Tulsa for a political rally on June 20, 2020 ... without putting precautions in place to prevent the spread of the virus."
"As currently planned, the Rally will endanger not only the health of the guests in attendance, but the entire Tulsa community and any community to which the guests may afterward travel. If ASM Global moves forward with the Rally without adequate review, planning, training, protective equipment, and safeguards, cases of COVID-19and the unavoidable attendant deathswill rise," the petition states.
DeMuro told CNN that the decision to sue to stop the rally was not political.

He wasn’t going to stop it anyway. People are already there waiting in line. I’m sure that the line is pretty small so far, but it’ll get pretty long tomorrow afternoon, I’m sure.
will this case go all the way to traitor roberts?
A lot of lawyers went to court to stop the millions of people protesting. rioting and looting, too.
Oh wait, that was different.
You can bet that the media/dems will attempt to shut down all of Trump’s rallies. We can also expect riots during his rallies, and lots of disruption during his speeches. I wouldn’t put it past them to have COVID patients attend the rallies in hopes of infecting people. I suspect that the Biden campaign will attempt to cancel all debates because they would rather have their candidate stay in his basement.
If it turns out that 100,000 (or more) are denied entry I wonder what kind of coverage See BS News would give it.
AT LAST!
A court decision in favor of our POTUS/US.
Radical Libs everywhere continue in their attempt
to silence us.
If the supreme court stops it, we’ll just do it anyway...with or without Trump. Just like a BLM protest. We have the same exact civil rights.
Seems like no one has ever taken William Shakespeare’s advise? Way too many of them out there, they even proliferate the halls of Congress.
That is easy. All rallies will be in red counties with Republican mayors and Republican dominated courts. Its not that hard. Over 2,800 counties voted for Trump accounting for around 80% of all counties in the country.
Which Supreme Court you talking about?
This will not be going to the US Supreme Court.
Where were these idiots when the protests and riots were going on hot & heavy! Not political? Only CNN would believe that!
“People are already there waiting in line.”
Please, God, let them be mask-less. It would be depressing to see Trump supporters all decked out in sheeple masks.
“I wouldnt put it past them to have COVID patients attend the rallies in hopes of infecting people.”
Count on it. COVID — or worse.
Bring your own mask because Im betting the Democrats will be passing out infected Chinese masks for a fortune.
Trying to stop the campaign over social distancing. Lol
Well dont they look idiotic for even trying. Lol.
Never again will it happen.
The court won’t stop it and shouldn’t. The First Amendment to the United States Constitution states “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress ...
Some more BS by the Democrats. I don’t see them trying to impede the riots
Its all good. The rally will go on!
