WFTV Orlando Florida reports record-breaking 3,200 new COVID-19 cases; 6 deaths reported locally The Florida Department of Health on Thursday reported 3,207 new cases of the coronavirus statewide since Wednesday, bringing the total to 85,926 cases.
The agency also reported 43 more deaths statewide since Wednesday, bringing the virus’ death toll to 3,061 people.
Six of those deaths happened in Central Florida -- Lake County reported three new deaths since Wednesday; and Seminole, Volusia and Polk counties each reported one new death.
So far, more than 1.4 million tests have come back negative. The positivity rate is now at 5.3% statewide.

You are correct. I mistyped two things.
1. I should have checked the number
2. I meant to say the per cent of deaths in Florida.
Here is my revised-—
In Florida about 5% of the TOTAL DEATHS are in the under 50 age group.
Not 5% of those testing positive.
Save the bs statistic of case fatality rate unless you offer up the definition of it. It means nothing and has no meaningful definition and lacks any context.
I am still surprise by the hot humid weather outbreaks. According to our so call experts we should be going down in new cases.

They are reporting positives as cases which misrepresents the number. This is meaningless without the number of hospitalizations, the age ranges, deaths (real deaths not heart attacks or broken necks). The actual mortality rate keeps falling but the one thing this virus does spread is STUPIDITY.
No authority, here and not speaking for the poster you replied to, but when my husband and I had light symptoms in April, they lingered, on & off for 3-5 weeks, maybe a tad longer.
We did do a 5-day course at the outset of quercetin, zinc, Vit.C&D, lots of green tea and lots of sleep.
Anecdote, not data, of course.

population in my county in NE FL is over 260,000 and we have had 6 deaths. One out of town too. This is what we shut down for pathetic
I think one of the things that people don’t understand is that any LRI or URI can have post viral reactive airways for 6 - 8 weeks, but this is not permanent
The poster of the comment is spreading disinformation. Any virus that leads to ARDS can cause damage, but for the most part it is cleared up and not permanent. It is rare to have permanent damage unless already teetering on organ system failure. The classic red herring thus far is renal damage. Most cases that end up with permanent dialysis already had chronic kidney disease that would have progressed eventually to end stage and dialysis dependent. It is just plain false to state that there is any significantly different incidence of permanent damage over any other type of disease

Higher positives producing less hysteria is proof enough for me it’s on its way out.
I was at a doc appt yesterday. I had a gazillion questions I had to answer before I could even set foot inside the premises. But whether or not I had attended a recent protest was not one of them.
Well, it would be hard for the positive case number to go up, and for the hospitalizations and deaths to go down.

Time to CASH in : all cases now are ‘Corona Virus’ (Wuhan Flu) related because of the 15% bonus to government payments made when classified as such.

Unless we have only a fraction of the positive cases and increased testing is revealing that this disease is simply not that big of a deal.
Increased testing sure doesn’t hurt when you want to make it look like numbers are increasing.
