New York (CNN Business)Cream of Wheat just became the latest major food brand to announce a review of its controversial mascot following the global uproar over the George Floyd tragedy, which has compelled corporations to reflect on their roles in perpetuating racism. Aunt Jemima was the first food brand Wednesday to announce it is changing its logo, which for decades has been widely criticized as a racist caricature of a black maid stemming from slavery. Hours later, Uncle Ben's and Mrs. Butterworth's followed suit. The pressure mounted for other brands Wednesday night when Cream of Wheat's parent company, B&G Foods, issued a statement saying it too has initiated a review of its packaging, which features the image of a black cook widely believed to be based on Chicago chef Frank L. White, who died in 1938.

Is it racist that Little Debbie is white?
Will all logos/trademarks be re-invented as non-human or non-identifiable as to ethnicity?
Is it racist that there are greeting cards for blacks (mahogany line of Hallmark)?
Do you suppose they will change out all of the color choices for women’s foundation makeup, to eliminate any that might work for Caucasian women?
This road they are going down could be long and bumpy.
Seen Juan Valdez lately?..................
I remembered him looking like a Dalmatian. I’ll look again.
Thanks for reminding me of his name.
in a year blacks will complain they are not represented in mainstream packaging.

“You’ve been erased at your request” should be the response.
Amen! I would consider all those names and logos as complimentary, not derogatory. Advertisers and brand-makers don’t use those images to degrade their products, but to enhance them!
My grandmother would often serve Cream of Wheat hot over a scoop of vanilla ice cream for breakfast.
In the 50’s and 60’s, the Cream of Wheat guy, Aunt Jemima and Uncle Ben were the only black faces most white Americans ever saw in their kitchens. Jus sayin.
Aunt Jemima was a real person. A freed slave who started her own cooking brand which was bough up and she then became the corporate spokeswoman and was a champion of what would later become to be called civil rights. She became one of the nations first black millionaires.
And the triggered, leftist dopes just shat on her legacy.
Controversial = I just feel bitchy today
LOL, that pic is awesome.
I feel offended about that image because it infers that caucasians are these pasty-white roly-poly folks with soft stomachs that people like to poke. It makes white people look weak and subservient.
....and fat................
you know that won’t be the answer! someone will grovel and cry and put a black person back on the syrup bottle.
What will they change the names of some food to like buckhwheat?.
To avoid offending anybody, we need to remove ALL images of people from product packaging. We also need to eliminate ALL product sponsoring from athletes, celebrities, and politicians of any kind.
Will Nike eliminate Michael Jordan and other black athletes from their shoe brand?
