NEW YORK The owner of the Uncle Bens brand of rice says the brand will evolve in response to concerns about racial stereotyping.
Caroline Sherman, a spokeswoman for Mars, which owns Uncle Bens, says the company is listening to the voices of consumers, especially in the black community, and recognizes that now is the right time to evolve the brand, including its visual identity.

That kid looks like Peter Stzrok!
Uncle Ben’s is not great rice, especially the execrable quick version. Rice is cheap. Buy a good quality Basmati or Jasmine.
At least for one production run
Quaker makes Aunt Jemima pancake mix... for some reason the white Quaker is still OK, maybe because some quakers have always been proponents of communist causes.
Remember the old generic black and white food boxes. We can go back to that but companies will complain there is no brand recognition and their packaging isn’t eye catching.

To avoid offending anybody, we need to remove ALL images of people from product packaging. We also need to eliminate ALL product sponsoring from athletes, celebrities, and politicians of any kind.
Which I do. It’s a rare thing to ever see a name brand in this house. Cheaper and tastes the same.
I have a 60 page ban list and do just fine not contributing my hard earned dime to them. Walmart is the exception to the rule since that’s about all we have here.
Like Moochie's permanent scowl. That'll kill any product it's on.
How about Uncle Ben Dover?
How about Thomas Jefferson Rice.
